I have a confession - Never made It to the this afternoon as I stated in another thread.
I caught a conversation in the bookies this morning about the game being on at the Spires so nipped down there instead.
The performances of Sheaf, Jamie Allen and Godforsaken, aside, I thought we equipped ourselves quite well at times - In terms of forward movement and chances (half or otherwise) created.
Had me coat on and walking to the door when Simms got his goal.
Pleased for him and us.

It is a lesson though in needing to have the confidence to stick with your own system and not grovel just because of the opposition's league position. May have lost regardless but would have been interesting.

Totally agree Brighton SB why the f!ck is MR pandering to the opposition setup, the last 20 mins we had them all ends up and there tactic of launching the ball out to a willing forward fell on Stoney ground because their forward players were having to come back to defend. Sakamoto is quality and I don’t know why MR does not start him ( don’t think MR can talk Japanese I think) i think Allan should have stopped the winger Burns! if he had stuck with him instead of worrying about the overlapping player that Bidwell had got covered

We've just lost to Ipswich and the rest of the run ahead continues to be tough. We've had a decent run against 3 of the poorer sides in this league after losing 4 out of 5 prior.

Thats the point. Im not sure we will pick the right team.
Whats worrying me is Latabadieure arguably has been our best player this season and was brought in to be a right sided CB in a back 3. Sakamoto was brought in yet clearly doesnt fit a wing back system. He is a quality player as a winger with a back 4. Now we have changed formation it seems latabadieure has no role in the team.
Surely when bringing in players, they are brought in to fit a system. It feels to me like the management team got a load of money from player sales and just brought in players they like the look of without actually thinking about how they will fit the system we play or might play. Ayari another example. Clearly brought in for a wing back system and now in a 4-3-3 he has no role and so we tried shoe horning him into a wider role.
Were Wright and Simms brought in to be a partnership? Can Binks play in a back 4. Da Silva isnt a full back in a back 4.

Thought Ipswich were brilliant, we've been alot worse than that, just lacking that cutting edge today and decision making.

Personally, I think he made a mistake. We ended up losing away to 2nd in the league, bad day at the office, move on.

Sakamoto at wing back, the corner defensive routine failing, and us not managing more than one shot on target till the latter stages. Would say that was more than just a few players having an off day.
