No he is trying to rubbish Sillets reputation when he achieved promotion as champions when he was at Hereford, saying his tenure was a complete flop when it wasn't.

I don't stick up for SISU, I just dare to criticise other groups as well as SISU.FFS - look at hockaday record. Does that inspire a revival? Doesn't for me. But hey you and Grendel love sticking up for sisu so no surprise there

Utter claptrap. You will find many posts on here from me praising Sillett and the sacking of him being a pivotal moment in our decline.
My point is obvious as others have pointed out. At the time he and Curtis were seen as cheap appointments and signs the club lack ambition. There was no reason a manager who had not worked for 8 years (and by the way had only 4% pts better win ratio at Hereford than hockaday) would succeed. He replaced an equally cheap option and Poynton was massively slated for it.

I'd be more concerned about the similarity to HEREFORD and US than SILLETT and PRESLEY
Hockaday is great coach and has a good rep for that, his management record is bloody terrible though and he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the managers seat on anything other than a caretaker basis. Comparing his record to John Sillets is laughable.
There is good managers in both league two and conference level who I'd like to see given the chance I'd just prefer for once we didn't go with a name and actually have a look at their record. To many times we've appointed managers on the back of failure rather than steady performance or recent success.
I can't see any reason for Dave Hockaday to be brought to the club if it isn't to replace Steve Pressley if only until the end of the season. It seems certain to me Pressley didn't appoint him. The next two fixtures could be the watershed in SPs time here, 2 defeats and I am certain he will be let go. I am told SP going will rejuvenate the dressing room, might even help Reda Johnson's injury!
It appears Pressley has an eighteen month severency deal built into his contract so that is the bill for getting rid of him or he stays until 2018, probably over £250000, looks like we are stuck with him.Personally, I think it's already too late for a new manager to make a difference. I think we are doomed to L2. Sacking SP would just cost us a ton of money and there is no guarantee a new manager would save us. The only option is to keep SP but take away his managership responsibilities.
Sillett and Curtis inherited a squad with 6 maybe 7 top quality international class players.
The current bunch and the type of player we now acquire are non league level who even Jose Mourinho would struggle to get results with.
