So many people think hamas (a terrorist organisation ).. are the good guys

Crazy

Hamas are not Palestinians, only they were voted in by them and they like them ?

Hold on almost 60 % of people in gaza have a positive opinion of Hamas , when you consider so many are children then you'd say that is most adults opinion ..

The people voted in terrorists , israel are not the terrorists , some say they are , but some people also were sympathetic to the IRA cause etc ..

Never me though , they're terrorists

But I'm not arguing about Hamas being terrorists, I'm arguing about what Israel is doing to civilians.

And again, if this is all about Hamas, what about what happens in the West Bank?

But hamas are hiding amongst the civilian population , what's the answer ? I've been in this situation in afghan , what's the answer ?

Of course they will, as I said in snother post, they don't give a fuck abut their fellow civilians.
But couldn't they also flee to the south hidden among the civilian population?

I don't know the answers but as I said in another post, given Israels military capabilities and world renown secret service, isn't there a way that could weed them out without carpet bombing the place?

No , I don't think there is a way , door to door but that's serious business

I mean it's almost like this isn't so simple as just goodies vs baddies, and maybe just maybe the actions of multiple parties over multiple years leads us to where we are now.

But no, far better just to come up with nonsensical simplisticisms really.

I've already provided evidence to show you that people think hamas are fine and good and are not a terrort organisation .. I doubt its a minority view amongst the hundreds of thousands of protesters

Let's just be real

I just can't believe they don't know where they are, maybe not each and everyone of them but enough to seriously reduce their capabilities.

Look at some of the news articles, in Israeli media, about Netanyahu facilitating them, maybe he doesn't ant them gone, at least not yet.

Clint the fact is they are just ordinary people in gaza , supported by family friends and the locals .. as it was in Afghanistan, its not individuals forcing themselves on the locals , these people are welcomed

I understand what you're saying, but if that's the case why evacuate the civilian population to the south? They can assimilate themselves a.ong those fleeing?

It just looks like another land grab to me, and that started long before Hamas came on the scene.

This is why I don't get involved , we went to Israel and did training on UAV equipment , this was years ago , I've seen the country with my own eyes .. I have a friend married to an Israeli women they regularly go there .. my regiment went there several more times years after I left ,They've seen what happens in Israel.

I just cannot accept the hamas good Israel bad narrative , Britain would meet hamas with just as much force if not more if that was us . That's the truth

Pretty mad accusation to make - you should name names if you genuinely believe there are terrorist sympathisers on here

Wouldn't matter either way , nobody is likely to come out and say ... yes me .

But let's not pretend there isnt support for hamas over Israel , youre lying to yourself

I could say SBT , you'd say no .. what else could I say .

I think there’s plenty of support for the Palestinian people against (as opposed to over) Israel, but I think if you interpret that as support for Hamas then you’re most likely just being over-emotional about it.

When you consider most of the Palestinians support hamas .. what's the difference ?

You don't give the same leeway to let's say , Britain's first supporters , you think they're cunts and rightly so

Let's keep consistency

I don’t really know what the level of on-the-ground support for Hamas is (beyond the, ahem, surveys you’ve mentioned) but I hardly think the conditions in the UK and the Gaza Strip are comparable when you’re talking about where support for extremist groups comes from. And acknowledging that difference isn’t the same as condoning either group, not in a million years.

Support for hamas in gaza is currently around 60%

Pretty high when you consider the misery they bring to their doorstep

Plotting the nonsense that's pervaded the area ever since the Balfour Plan makes one a terrorist sympathiser apparently... which is just a little bit crass and ridiculous.

Asking how we get to this point is apprently not on either.

(And for the avoidance of doubt, that isn't the fault of Israel and solely Israel, not that I should really have to point this out! Nor should I have to point out that attacks on innocent civilians designed to provoke and stir up conflict are also to be condemned but hey, here we are)

Anyway, this thread is getting absurd (again). More fool me for looking when I could have guessed what it'd be like after the Ukraine one!

2022 was when uk decided Hamas was a terrorist organisation. Year after USA and many countries don’t recognise them in that way

no elections in Gaza since is it 2014

It's absurd if the opinion doesn't align with your own and that's fair enough .. we're all the same
