“I have to keep an open mind if any application were to come in. The council has no choice, if any application comes in it would have to be looked at"
“I had not heard anything and it came as a complete surprise to me. But I would say, if there was a speculative enquiry put into planning it would not necessarily have been put to me until later in the process."
Clear enough to me, if a future application came in there is no choice but to consider it (that's a long way from saying there is any chance of getting permission) and any talks the club have had with N&B council are at such an early stage no one has even bothered to tell him about it.
Yet more evidence that SISU have got absolutly nowhere in over 6 months.
"Should the club not comply with this timeframe, the matter will be considered by The Football League Board at the relevant time with reference to both the permission to relocate and the membership agreement entered into in August 2013. Expulsion from the League would be a realistic outcome at that stage"
We know they are only checking once a year which will be between seasons. If, as seems likley, by the first check there are no plans, site purchased or planning permission applied for something must be done by the league surely?
Can someone help?? I live near the Ricoh and is only a walk away, Exhall not much further however I would be very reluctant to go as it is outside of the City Boundary. Does anyone know of any clubs that play outside of the boundary of which they represent??? I doubt for one minute this will happen but just in case.
Money can solve most problems, but no matter how much you throw at it this land is still in the greenbelt.
Football grounds dont get built on the greenbelt.
Grimsby play in Cleethorpes and coventry play in Northampton!

A modular stadium is the way these days. MK Dons are doing it. The increase could be done during the close season.
Nottingham Forest. They have had several site's around Nottingham previously but unlike what sisu are proposing they up sized and moved to what was best for the club and it's ambition. It's just the other side of a river which is the boundary, not too different to the M6 and Coventry
Minus ambition off course.
wiki said:Nottingham was granted its Charter as a City in 1897 and it was called the City Ground to commemorate this as the land on which it stands was at that time within the City boundary.
Not sure I'd agree it's like the M6, I lived in West Bridgeford for 2 years and would've always said I lived in Nottingham.
Besides, it was in the City boundary when they built it, hence the "City Ground".
Also, they're Nottingham Forest, not Nottingham City and the forest in question (Sherwood) isn't in the city.
So very different to this I'd say.
Don't they call it Exhall Coventry, even though it's in Bedworth?
Who do they pay rates to--Coventry or Nuneaton/Bedworth.

To be honest I dont give a fuck where THEY pay their rates,I dont give a fuck what THEIR geographical location is, I care about one club and that is Coventry City Football Club end fucking ofWho do Grimsby pay their rates to? Where does Nottingham forest pay their rates to, where do man Utd paid their rates?

Unlike those places you have named we live in a city with clearly defined boundaries.

Which isn't what you were saying 6 months ago....

Just to go back to the planning issues for Exhall. SISU's project is ultimately for a 25,000 seater-stadium, so presumably they'll want to
make sure that they get planning permission for something that size. In itself, that makes things harder.
Worse though, far worse than that, they've said that selling part of the development for retail is a key part of the funding. So you're trying to get permission for not just
a stadium, but also for a large retail development. This on green belt land, where there is generally a presumption against development except for exceptional circumstances. Regardless of the stadium, there's hardly an exceptional need for another large retail park in this area, given what already exists nearby on the Ricoh site (which seemingly itself has scope for further retail development).
It's an absolute non-starter this - it's as farcical as the Brandon idea.
If you couldn't get housing through, which is an absolute priority in planning terms, there's surely no way that retail will be considered.
Such a heated debate on rumour and speculation. The floundering SISU haven't even bought land in Exhall yet.
Floundering indeed. Usually clubs announce new stadium and show artist impressions when they've got a site and council approval. We haven't even decided which bit of land we'd LIKE to buy, let alone decided which council we're going to do battle with. What a joke.
No, you've got it wrong, Pete.
We will draw up the artist's impression, then sell season tickets and then car park places and then advertsing space.
And only then we will try and find some land and then try and find some money and then try and build it.
So do forest and united not play in there historical grounds?
That was the comparison that idiot on CWR gave. If they were moved away from there current homes do you think they would be happy and endorse it?
Opinions change, even yours it would seem.
Do you still agree with these words? :-
"I have no idea why exhall, is classed as Coventry, it is quite clearly Bedworth. And Brandon and binley woods are small villages in Warwickshire."
It's not going to Exhall ... don't think it will be anywhere if honest, but if it is ... my gut would be Warwick Uni area.
