Clearly Frank Lampard needs time before being judged and also worth mentioning (not seen it mentioned anywhere tbh) is he doesn't as yet have Haji Wright available.... makes a big difference having the leading goalscorer in your team.
I'm sure we will see some activity in the January transfer window to try to improve the defence... it's piss poor currently.

If we were in that position and King came out and said we weren't spending in January as there was no chance of play offs people would be losing their minds on here.

Personally when going to play the side that is rock bottom of the league, has only managed 2 home wins all season and scored a grand total of 9 goals I'm not taking a 4-1 defeat as a sign of great improvements being made.Why would we expect to beat Portsmouth? So you didn't go then ?There’s no way that match was as bad as Portsmouth. In fairness it was in the middle of a run of 4 losses on the trot which was pretty depressing, but as a one off match I’d argue Portsmouth was much worse.

Portsmouth was abject, just totally abject. There was nothing after the first few mins to suggest we had any idea of what were supposed to be doing. I get the agenda, we all see it, but just call it as it is. Early days for sure, but surely a management team vaunted for their tactical expertise should be able to get a bit more out of these players than we’ve seen so far?

In fact, I think watching on TV gives you a clearer view of the on the ball action.
Being in the ground allows you to watch the off the ball stuff better which you don't get to see on TV.
Even watching from different parts of the ground gives a totally different perspective
Does seem it but in reality two of those happen within 6 months. Just think the rebuild job is quite a large one. I think we need 4-5 players. But that’s into the existing squad. You have to imagine we’ll lose at least 2-3 of those currently in the starting 11. That leaves you needing the thick end of a new team.I respect your views, but really 3 or 4 windows, two years? We were playing the team 3rd from bottom and with the second worst home record (not good home form as you say).
We were odds on favourites with the bookies to win.
There was a lot of expectation that we would win the game.
Not lose 4 fucking 1.
