7 points from 4 and no manager bounce?

Seriously?

Over a season that’s the autos almost
A decent start, but 3 of those points came against the worst team in the championship that are nailed on to go down. (And we still had to come from behind)

And another point came from a very late and dubious penalty at home to Cardiff.

So I'd say it's been a steady start, but at least we've moved away from the relegation zone, so the pressure has eased a little.

It will be interesting to see what happens in January, and how we go about strengthening the defence, which looks very fragile at the moment.

I am not looking up yet but Bristol, Millwall and Derby have such poor form I'd hope we can overtake them soon.

Agree it's a new dawn and we have to buy into it.

Extensive studies in Germany has shown new manager bounce doesn't really exist and at best is very short lived before form returns to the previous normal.

That is not to say a new manager/coach given time can't take a team forward .

I was a big Robins fan, I could see small signs of an upturn and felt he deserved more time. However that ship has now sailed.

So I hope Frank Lampard can take us forward. He deserves time and the earliest I think we can make any judgements will be the end of next season.

It's tactical according to King so where's the tactical changes needed to stop us leaking goals?
Some of it will inevitably be personnel, there’s a shortage of leadership.

Same defenders, same GK conceding shit goals. There’s obviously a need for change, it’s embarrassing.

It’s obviously not tactical. The personnel aren’t good enough

Other than selecting Collins you can’t put this on Lampard. He’s inherited a squad with no defence. I’d like to know how he continues with Binks over Kitching but he can’t be blamed for previous defensive recruitment.

But he can be blamed if he makes them worse. It's very early days but there's a possibility he might.

As with most things, football is simply not just black or white.

That was an abomination of a performance in the end today. We did however, start off incredibly well and looked like we could score at will.

We should have been at least two nil up. But it was an really terrible effort by Bassette.

Got that goal and we would have continued with the same swagger, I'm sure. Pompey heads would have dropped too. We made them look very ordinary. We could have easily won this game today. Such fine margins.

What the problem is, is that we have a soft underbelly and continue to make absolutely horrendous mistakes.

It's such a fine line. In the end though, we looked like relegation fodder, for sure. It was a million miles away from the way we started the game however.

We are too fragile and brittle and our belief can swiftly evaporate at times.

We showed what we could do in that first 10 mins. We looked a good side, albeit, against poor opposition.

There IS something there, but we have to cut out the ridiculous errors and that should be Collins and Dasilva gone, unfortunately.

Very poor keeping and very poor defending from JDS.

They HAVE to be replaced.

Some smart dealing in January and I am sure we will be fine.

That's trying to take nothing away from that most horrific effort in the end today.

Where's the leaders on the pitch ? There aren't any.
The majority of this lot are an embarrassment to the club

We got rid of them.

And I don't care what anyone says, it was on King.
Hopefully he acknowledges his error and let's Lampard recruit some experience
Edit - and just to clarify, I'm talking about those type of players rather than the actual players

Binks has always been overrated - he was responsible for the goal on the opening game and never covers properly. Dasilva is a joke player.

Dasilva's defending and positioning, is just awful at times.

Gets the wrong side of players, gets brushed off the ball too easily and so often makes such a weak effort to prevent a shot or cross coming in.
