Getting off my laptop for a bit. Need to. Some still insinuating still the fault of AT although we were the bookies favourites to go down as the season started. No cover for positions. Young players put into the team, opposite of Pompey. Need to calm down. Would we need to win this division by 1000 points before some might admit AT has at least done OK with what he had this season?

I've just got my calculator out and am all but certain that you can't get a thousand points in one season.

Could I have a 2nd opinion from someone else doing the maths though just to be sure I haven't got it wrong?

Just enjoy the day, I am officially classed as being in the Mong camp but nothing can ruin this

We don't, Brsitol and Donny have both scored less than us this season but point still taken.

Well to someone who doesn't rate him, sure. But like Clive just said, you can't blame him when we are doing badly, only to turn around when we are doing well and say it's despite him.

I think the recent success just emphasises what I thought before: we have a ridiculously threadbare squad and haven't replaced quality. The manager has had sod all in the way of fully fit options, and certainly in terms of competition for places we are the weakest in the division, exacerbated by injuries-which of course are inevitable. The only way the manager was allowed to reinforce his squad was to get rid of other players-and not at any stage increase the numbers! There isn't a manager in our division who has been so impotent in the transfer market: a crime given the man's talent as a scout, as we are seeing in the two players he chose to come in (even if one of them is the best non-scoring striker in The Championship to compliment the 2nd best non-scoring striker in The Championship :p )

Now we finally have a few options, and the raw kids have a bit more experience, not to mention the return to fitness of our two best full-backs and the re-instatement of last seasons back 4, we are doing OK. But we have been sadly lacking up until recently-the team virtually picked itself. That makes a managers job almost impossible, especially when you are forced to play kids when their form and morale has dropped. I'd still say we have the weakest attack in the division, both in terms of quality and statistically in terms of goals scored.

Absolutely spot on, although for some reason some can't understand this. Maybe if we had played shite for 90 mins each game then it would have been noticed more how crap our squad is. Still negative comments after 6 games unbeaten and the hardest run of games all season this month. Some even said we would be lucky to get any points this month.

I am now starting to hope we get rid of AT at the end of the season. Let him go to a club that will give him at least a bit of backing and see what he can do. He seems to be on a loser with us. We do not deserve him.

We are out of the relegation zone

I meant by strikers. Platt + Cody + Alex = 7? I could work it out goals-per-game but it would be embarrassing! Alex has replaced Lukas in that he perhaps suits us better, but he sure hasn't replaced his goals.

Sorry, it's hard to resist what Paxman said! Was that a wind-up post or what?

Ahh ok sorry, thought you meant as a squad. As a squad we have scored more than Bristol and Donny and only 1 less than todays opponents Hull.

Young players new to the Championship should have done better as soon as they come into the team? 2 loans that did the job of players we were crying out for? Team from last season ripped apart? Players gone and not replaced?

How much do I have to go on? We should have done better?

I seriously do not get your train of thought. A few of us have seen what has gone on since the end of last season. I have like a few others seen the good of what has been going on and taken a lot of abuse for it. We kept saying time was needed. Cut it a bit fine in the end, but we are doing better now :D

The dilusional one is going to crack open yet another beer and celebrate a great result.

We've got a chance of staying up because of Andy Thorn. Look at what other Championship clubs such as Donny and Forest have done with much more expensive squads.

I think you need to get things into perspective - not just take the 'win = good manager' 'lose =bad manager' retarded view.

Andy Thorn absolute hero, regardless of the final outcome the guy is doing a great job, knows a good player and is a relative part of the furniture at the club if you consider the turnaround of staff.

THORN IN - the new Jimmy Hill???

Given the summer departures, I thought we'd go down this year so if we do escape - and that's looking feasible now - then Thorn has had a successful season overall as far as I'm concerned.

So we have taken so much verbal shite for months, then are expected to forget about it when what we say could happen does we forget about it. All I want is for those that say we should be much higher than we are to realise we were not as good as they thought in their sky blue tinted glasses. To me we have been punching above our weight the last month.

Only my opinion. I could be wrong, but I stand by what I have said all season.

I'm not getting into this argument with anyone - it's been debated time and again and clearly there are differences of opinion.

That said I stick by what I've said. Thorn has been responsible for no away wins all season (until today) that has put us in the bottom three.
The team are better than that. Finally the last month he seems to have got a few more things right than wrong and may yet save our bacon when all looked doomed.

If suddenly just because you think we have a squad 'ripped apart' he is not a little culpable in the first place then you sir are delusional.

As I said not spoiling the day here but please keep it real. 6 unbeaten is great now. It does show the squad is not that bad. AT's lack of achievement with it up until last month has put us where we are.

Now we are out I hope we stay out. I see no reason why we wouldn't.

Aye. The only hope I had earlier this year was the fact that we're Coventry. Historically, we're famous for The Great Escapes!
I'm very happy tonight but touching wood though, as we're not out of this by a long chalk.
