Not sure why some are actually criticising SISU for rejecting offers? I get that they are absolute tossers, but they literally can't win.

In what world is holding out extra for players a negative? The clubs stump up the extra; great, the clubs don't; we get to keep our better players.

However you would hope Slade and Venus (is he even still alive?) have options ready to go if the deals go through.

Still, this whole thread is depressing reading. One good striker would make such a massive difference.

Are people criticising for rejecting offers?

Maybe I missed it.

I do think people are worried though that in holding out to the last minute could affect our trying to bring players in.

Could well be we can't bring in until players have gone out.

Last minute could scupper that.

Yes, they are.

It could supper it but that was my point re Slade/Venus/whoever, having plans for those players leaving i.e. replacements targeted and clubs made aware. They are close to the deals, they should know how likely any are to go through.

Please don't froget we have signed 6 players this window - more than most. Yes, we do need more especially muscle up front, incisive wide player and a battering ram in midfield, but most windows have a few late signings so we may end up with 8 new bods in for the window overall.

If you count Ricketts as a departure, then I think we've lost 8 players from the squad - the 6 loanees plus Ricketts and Sordell. So with only 6 arrivals, were still 2 down. And we may lose one or two more by this time tomorrow.

We have got three on loan - Reilly, Vernam and Rawson. 6 loan players left at the start of Jan (McBean, Wright, Agyei, Sterry, Page and McCann). Once you attribute the Sordell money to the signings of Beavon and Reilly, plus the Derby lads who must have been on fairly similar money to a couple of the returned loans, and you're left with probably enough budget for a couple more players (assuming that TF meant it when he said budget was available and didn't simply mean that loans would be replaced, or that the earmarked budget has been lost on FA fines / the losses incurred by hosting 4-5 games when two men and a dog showed up)
