If Collins does sign we would have a very potent front line. Him, Bevon, Thomas, McNulty and Kwame will all get 10+ goals at that level.
signing Collins will still be a gamble. Just because he has a track record at league two, doesn't mean he will be a success with us.
Remember, Russell Slade had a track record in League One !
Him, McNulty and Thomas would be one of if not the best attacking line up in the league. It's just whether we will be able to hang onto the likes of Thomas and Beavon if Collins signs. If not then Collins and McNulty would still be a formidable strike forceIf Collins does sign we would have a very potent front line. I'm talking about the Collins deal. He's hopeful and they are trying to do the deal. I wouldn't put bullshit on here.
If Collins really wants to come and we are interested, there's not much Crawley can do except get the best possible fee or they risk having a player who's thrown his toys out the pram and doesn't want to play for them. It's the fee that'll be the stumbling block but if they can get over that then I think it will happenHeard something similar, speaking to a city fan yesterday afternoon who was with a lad who allegedly knows Collins. Apparently terms agreed with the player and he's keen yet the clubs are haggling over a fee.
Personally I wouldn't have thought that we'd be able to agree terms or speak to a player unless the fee had been alread agreed. Only passing on what I've heard but sounded genuine. Would be a fantastic signing but can't see it myself.

I don't think that will be too much of an issue. Mind you this is us we are talking about! It might not just be how much the fee is there will probably be negotiations over payment schedule, additional payments in the event of promotion and a share of any subsequent transfer fee if he's sold on
I heard that we offered them the wrong flavoured bag of crisps for him.It might not just be how much the fee is there will probably be negotiations over payment schedule, additional payments in the event of promotion and a share of any subsequent transfer fee if he's sold on
Ham and sour grape?I heard that we offered them the wrong flavoured bag of crisps for him.

if the player doesn't want to go to Luton then surely he wont go?
just dig your heels in James!
As it stands Collins will be joining Luton. Widdrington has told Crawley his budget and unless that changes it isn't enough to match lutons offer. Collins wants to come here and city have offered him a good enough wage deal. We offered £150k. Hopefully we manage to get some more from somewhere even that means Willis or harries going. I think he could be the difference between mid table and play offs personally. For me the main factor is that he is desperate to play for us unlike the Andre wrights of this world.
Where did you hear this all from then, quite a bit of info there....
Not saying your right or wrong by the way just interested.

As usual I'm not going to say. But as someone as mentioned before, the horses mouth
Ok... so your saying you heard it from James then?

Maybe or maybe someone else mentioned in the post
Someone must know him or his family and can find out some gossip
This horse seems to have 2 mouths at the moment. One saying 'a deal done soon hopefully' and one saying 'we can't match their offer'. Did this horse have a birth defect? As usual I'm not going to say. But as someone as mentioned before, the horses mouth
Ok, I don't wanna blow your cover and any information is good in a preseason that's gone a little quiet but earlier in the thread you were the one asking if anyone knew him and had any gossip?
Have you recently found a long lost friend who knows James or a horse in a field that wanted to whisper a secret conversation he'd overheard while munching on a carrot?

Surely Collins could force a move through if he really wanted. Here's hoping!Haha turns out someone did know his family and that someone was in my family!
Reckon deals still on?Haha turns out someone did know his family and that someone was in my family!

We will definitely be challenging for the play offs at least. If he signs we are top 6 next season
Reckon deals still on?
Hopefully it's concluded sooner rather than later, as the longer it goes on the less chance we have of signing him IMOVery much so
Good question. For the brass I suppose(compared to us)Why would anyone want To go to Luton?
No wonder you vote Tory. The glory days of spending £6m of somebody else's money with no real prospect of paying it back.Sisu don't do speculate to accumulate do they,Shows how far we have fallen if we cant offer £200,000.
Oh the days of a £6m player!!
