for us and we will forever be tha
I think Palmer has been a great signing. He had barely played the season before, so it would always take half a season until he's up to speed. He's been bright in every game I've seen him, could of scored more perhaps. A front 3 of Patterson, Palmer & Vik could be very fruitful.Yeah ultimately the only thing we can conclude about Palmer so far is he has the skill to maybe be worth his signing, but he hasn't justified his cost so far, so a maybe seems fair, could go either way.
Wasn't Cashman a premier league signing?
So how does that make him a great signing to date, if you're acknowledging that he's not shown whether he's a great signning or not yet?so it would always take half a season until he's up to speed.
Wonder if that’s why there’s been a change in the recruitment department.Would also be interesting to look at how many of the young players bought in for development have progressed. Hyam more or less came straight into the match day squad, and Tavares has had some game time, but a lot have not made it.
Brian Borrows or David Burrows?Cyril Regis, Brian Burrows. The list is endless.
Brian Borrows or David Burrows?
Wasn’t Hyam initially in and out of the league two side? I thought Rod McDonald and Willis was the initial paring and then he favoured Willis and Davies until the final when Davies was suspended?Would also be interesting to look at how many of the young players bought in for development have progressed. Hyam more or less came straight into the match day squad, and Tavares has had some game time, but a lot have not made it.
What about Mark Robbings? Can blame autocorrect for this one, but don't forget Mark Robbins
Because he was making an impact even when not playing every game. Let's see come May this season, I think it will be clear he was an astute signing. He clearly likes being here, and is being managed correctly. So how does that make him a great signing to date, if you're acknowledging that he's not shown whether he's a great signning or not yet?
So, what you are heavily implying is that signings are only positive if they are 100% starters? Palmer is contributing whether he starts or comes off the bench. If Bidwell is dropped to the bench, our squad options are significantly stronger. You are exaggerating Moore because you didn't like what you saw in a pre-season friendly and never dropped it. All of those players have contributed so much more per £ than Hilsner or DaCosta so that point is null and void. You are making it out to be so much worse than it is.Current team status. Palmer is 0.5 as he’s not playing every game really and will likely be dropped if we sign Paterson. Moore has been poor since New Year last season and was dropped by the end of the season. He’s obviously not got a future here same as Walker. Which matters when you’re talking about a three year deal we can’t get out of. Say what you want about Hilsner and Dacosta but their deals won’t have cost us as much by a long shot.
Bidwell is the only signing we’ve really made with Championship experience who has consistently kept his place ahead of others from lower League. And even he might be for the chop if this new lad is any good. And was largely second fiddle to Maatsen.
Outside of Hamer pretty much all our successful signings have been players from Prem U23s.
It happens with a lot of signings a ‘ ‘mates mothers uncle’ who supports the selling club says he is useless, the signing of Bidwell a good example. I get the feeling there’s disappointment from some on here if the player proves to be okay.Cant believe there's a thread 11 pages long slagging off the potential signing of a 31 year old with great championship stats, mental

I don’t know how many times it has to be said that the player himself isn’t being criticised
Considering Twine was what 4m? Who do you want for 400k
also considering Brexit rules make it notoriously difficult to sign foreign players - which top league in Europe are we getting a championship standard AM for 400k?
he is if he’s not worth £400k
Andy Thorne. Can blame autocorrect for this one, but don't forget Mark Robbins
Neither was Tavares. He wasn’t a first team signing. Neither was Reid really. Seems the U23 transfers were done entirely separately.
I think Pattinson would be a good signing
Was Bidwell’s ability related to how much we paid for him, ie nothing?
He’s hardly played sounds like he and his manager don’t see eye to eye, it happens.I wouldn’t pay anything more then £400k for a player with 0 goal contributions this season. Misewell of kept Waggy
His stats are on par with ilias chair at this level who I'm sure most city fans would love to have here but would cost a few millionI'm not sure his stats are quite as good as some make out, but they are certainly better than anything we have got at the moment. I think it's worth taking a chance on him, but in general we need to add more goals to the team. It's awfully light in that area.
Not this season they’re not!His stats are on par with ilias chair at this level who I'm sure most city fans would love to have here but would cost a few million
James Paterson is a good buy at that price imo400k for a 31 year old championship proven goalscoring attacking midfielder who assists just as many as he scores ... with 18 months left on his contract ?
No brainer
He's played on average 39 mins a match.. he's fell out with the management hardly fair to judge ..Not this season they’re not!
Huge fan of Chair btw, he is absolute quality.
He absolutely isJames Paterson is a good buy at that price imo
He can get bums on seats. Not this season they’re not!
