Where has it been actually said that either one or the other has to leave ? Getting rid of BTA makes complete sense .
More likely is manager has been told be can have all the funds from sales and he's decided BTA should be one of the first to go. It's normal and honestly we used to dream of the day the manager would get all the money from sales.

Someone needed to be sold this window if we wanted to pay for incomings

That was looking like Latibeaudiere as we would have made a small profit

However with both Stoke and Blackburn showing concrete interest in BTA and looking like we can recoup our cash, Latibeaudiere plays in more needed positions (CB,RB, CDM) Than BTA (ST)

Hence the decision that Latibeaudiere is more important to us than BTA

Hopefully any deal with Asante can be done quickly to allow us to spend some of that cash

Why would he not take the profit on Lati then if we can get more money back on a poor signing. Why not get rid of both?
Well I would get rid of both as I think they are both a bit shit, but I'm not the manager. You'd have to ask him mate.
Maybe he thinks it leaves a bit too much rebuilding for a January window.

Totally normal stuff. I hope Lampard gets another go with the BTA money.

Not going to say I don’t understand it for the reasons laid out but take the money you have and not the money you don’t right?

Has this any impact on Rak? I remember us hoping for both to go to fund him?

Are Stoke actually in for BTA as well as Blackburn? Robins doing us a solid if so.

Sounds like Lati will go in the summer.

He’s obviously been made aware Frank is ok with him leaving so that’s a pretty clear message ….. why would he now want to stay any longer than he has to ??

This is the thing which concerns me . Lati looked like an assured deal , BTA we will be waiting until an offer is accepted . If this goes pear shaped then we end up with nothing. Mind you I would get rid of BTA first all day long

How was Lati an assured deal? It was only ever speculated on here wasn't it? BTA interest made it to the national press.

Lati to Burnley off

Frank would rather lose BTA than Lati. Understandable

He's an enabler to sell MVE for a much bigger profit in any case

Assuming the rumour was credible I don't really mind Lati not going this window, as much as I'm not really a fan.

As I'd be a bit concerned who we'd replace him with. Not a lot of good permanent options available for a realistic fee and bringing in a loan as a stopgap would've been very SISU-esque.

If there's an option for one of him, or Binks to go in the summer then we should look to take it but for now we may as well stick with if there isn't the funds to bring in another CB.

BTA needs to be moved on though. He's a needless overhead.

Only going on my interpretation of what saddle has been reporting. Lati deal off sounded like something was definitely happening
If BTA offer made it to Sky Sports I'd say that's way more solid. All parties were obviously happy enough with that getting out.

In hindsight considering Burnley have so much defensive depth as things stand, them taking Lati as opposed to other clubs always seemed bizarre

The only thing I would say in that regard is that it fires interest of the 2 clubs in for him and Sky maybe we're actively encouraged to report it . It appeared that in the case of Lati only Burnley were interested and maybe they wanted to keep that more under wraps

Lati has been made the scape goat for a poor season. He is versatile position wise as SB says, even if he's master of none of those positions.

He'll be needed as RB to cover MVE along with Burroughs now. And midfield we are short so you never know there either.

For all we know Lati could have an absolutely storming second half of the season and we'll be begging he stays, it can happen. I'm okay with him staying for now.

BTA I really liked as a signing, and his interviews are great. He's another I done think has actually been played up front at all this season.

This whole season is a write off and Lampard now has finally seen dovin and kitching are worth their place. He's started simms so hopefully that comes to fruition with emc and wright to come back in.

I'll say it again, the squad that MR and Austin built was so unbalanced it was ridiculous, just like the coaching staff situation.
