I didn't realise his eyesight was goingLol are you mad, he’s a solid championship defender I’d take that swap anyday. Hyam would walk into our defence
If only he could scoreThe thing is, we have proper interest in BTA, You'd assume we would keep him benched etc to prevent injury
No, not us
He's starting today
'Shop window' comes to mind
Knowing our luck he scores 2, motm, leaves and we think, oh shit, should have actually played him up front more instead of a raw bassetteIf only he could score
Frank loves his work rate doesn’t he ….The thing is, we have proper interest in BTA, You'd assume we would keep him benched etc to prevent injury

Good point, well explained.Someone needed to be sold this window if we wanted to pay for incomings
That was looking like Latibeaudiere as we would have made a small profit
However with both Stoke and Blackburn showing concrete interest in BTA and looking like we can recoup our cash, Latibeaudiere plays in more needed positions (CB,RB, CDM) Than BTA (ST)
Hence the decision that Latibeaudiere is more important to us than BTA
Hopefully any deal with Asante can be done quickly to allow us to spend some of that cash
A no win scenario. He plays shite, it puts off suitors and weakens our chances of a result. He plays well, it weakens the argument for selling him.Frank loves his work rate doesn’t he ….
I wouldn’t risk playing him if he’s the way we plan to fund our incomings this window
That could happen to any player including star signingsCan't wait for the ACL/ruptured achilles for Lati that means we can't flog him in the summer
Probably a Doug King negotiating masterclass, pretend he's a key player for us to use in negotiationsThe thing is, we have proper interest in BTA, You'd assume we would keep him benched etc to prevent injury

Agreed tbf!Fed up of players getting dug out this season, whole teams been poor, Asante’s no worse than any other, really want him to come good
Yes, if there is interest, move both on.Appreciate there’s half the window to go, but I’m becoming pretty disillusioned with it all. Moving on Lati and BTA would have been a really good start, especially for the fees mooted. If we have doubts over replacing them then do our recruitment team only plan a week ahead?
Unless we’re in dire financial trouble, or unless he’s had some kind of argument with Lampard that there’s no way back from, I don’t see why it makes “complete sense” to take a sizeable loss on a player after 25 games when your squad is already too small. We’re not about to get a January warchest by flipping BTA to Blackburn or Stoke.Getting rid of BTA makes complete sense .
Feels like a missed opportunity to sell him doesn't it….Can't wait for the ACL/ruptured achilles for Lati that means we can't flog him in the summer
Nothing agreed yet so the sizeable loss you state isn't necessarily correct. With a fully fit squad BTA is behind Bassette in the pecking order. We are fortunate that there are 2 clubs potentially interested in a striker who doesn't score goals with little evidence of any improvement. We need to get what we can and move on. If we don't his value diminishes rapidly .Unless we’re in dire financial trouble, or unless he’s had some kind of argument with Lampard that there’s no way back from, I don’t see why it makes “complete sense” to take a sizeable loss on a player after 25 games when your squad is already too small. I don’t get why we’d wanna sell him ahead of Lati. Lati has limited potential resale value £2m would have been a good dealProven Championship striker. Baffled by why we’re so keen to get rid from a fans point of view. Hope he does start today and does well. The level of criticism he’s had is ridiculous
Throughout his career a goal every 4 games isn't that great tbh for a proven championship strikerProven Championship striker. Baffled by why we’re so keen to get rid from a fans point of view. Hope he does start today and does well. The level of criticism he’s had is ridiculous
How about you get behind our players and stop being so negativeThroughout his career a goal every 4 games isn't that great tbh for a proven championship striker
I think the reality is, you can’t do a team rebuild half way through a season in January. There simply isn’t the time and clubs are playing the game, as are we.Yes, if there is interest, move both on.
Even with Kitching, we could have let him go. Rumours of Allen too.
Frank could have started to put his stamp on the squad.and looked to bring in some fresh faces.
Seems we have a habit of teams having interest in players/players being out in the cold and looking to move on.....then they play in a game, do ok and all of a sudden the squad is ok again!
Is that to the 'Heartbeat; tune ?' Not sure it'll get going in Singers Corner, but I'll give it a go if it does.“Thomas-Asante gets more slack than Bassette”.
Meanwhile blues are signing a CB from 2.Bundesliga on a free in the summer who is better than any of ours.
How about you get behind our players and stop being so negative
Flog BTA and we’re down to two available strikers - in a team that’s played two up top as much as we have this season, that’s far from optimal, and you then have no other choice but to play Tavares or move Wright from out wide.Nothing agreed yet so the sizeable loss you state isn't necessarily correct. Yeah but some weirdos want to act like the world is ending. It's not concerning at all. The manager has recognised he can get his money back on a poor signing and use it better elsewhere. Genuinely not sure what's to find concerning about that.
