We should be doing that regardless if we win today, if we’d have done it earlier in the window like other teams we’d have won more gamesIf we win today it could give DK the push to get the likes of Schlupp and if there are others over the line, 4 points away from top 6 and he could give FL what he wants
Could also do the opposite and get him thinking the squad is good enough till the summerIf we win today it could give DK the push to get the likes of Schlupp and if there are others over the line, 4 points away from top 6 and he could give FL what he wants
I think in part you have answered your own question. Bassett has the promise of a young player who we might develop and sell at a profit, but he's too raw to command a regular place in the team. Most young players we can afford are probably at a similar development stage. You have to have some experienced players because you can't get away with a team full of young hopefuls. We're not a finishing school for likely lads, we are competing in a decent standard league. And if the team is not competitive the young bloods may not be in the best environment to develop and go on to better teams. Are we signing our prospects too old?
Feel like we should be picking them up U20 so after a couple of years they’re still sold with potential and not in their mid twenties.
Bassette is miles off the level but closer to the right age. Or are all the young players with potential snapped up by big clubs too early and not let go until they’re 23?
I don't disagree with that mate, we should be getting players in regardless but I'm saying it might push him even moreWe should be doing that regardless if we win today, if we’d have done it earlier in the window like other teams we’d have won more games
That's true and I hope its not because it's clear we need to addCould also do the opposite and get him thinking the squad is good enough till the summer
He's had two seasons though and before that played in the Dutch top flight. Spence had one decent season at Forest. Spence though I suppose has got the British premium.Djed Spence had a fantastic season when he went to Tottenham for a similar amount.
MVE’s season has probably been a 6/10 max. His performances hasn’t warranted those types of fees

Because of our lack of financial clout even though the rewards are greater potentially for picking somebody up earlier, the risks (that a player's potential is never realised etc) are also higher so I think we've had to sign players a step or two forward in development. Are we signing our prospects too old?

It does, so the policy has to have some flexibiltyI dont disagree, I just wonder if it limits us a bit on the “buy young and cheap and develop” model.
To be fair, apart from maybe two players I don’t think we are far off. If we can’t get any quality which we would want here in the summer, might be better to stickThat's true and I hope its not because it's clear we need to add
Bar new years day we have won 2, won our cup game and lost at Norwich in injury time since the window opened. Not sure how we would have won more if we signed someone stacks up thereWe should be doing that regardless if we win today, if we’d have done it earlier in the window like other teams we’d have won more games
You’ll be happy when we’ve signed nobody at the end of the window then, constant excusesBar new years day we have won 2, won our cup game and lost at Norwich in injury time since the window opened. Not sure how we would have won more if we signed someone stacks up there

We need an experienced Cm and experienced CB then we can genuinely challenge for the play offsTo be fair, apart from maybe two players I don’t think we are far off. If we can’t get any quality which we would want here in the summer, might be better to stick
Cant see Wright going on the summer
Long injury lay off, also had a stint out last year
Plus, we have a year option on him were will.of course activate..so he will have 3 years left
The 2 that will deffo go this summer for decent money will be Sheaf and Milan
Will get close to 20 for the pair I reckon
I agree as I said only need a couple of players imo. If Saddle is right, hopefully can get the Cm in. Would like Dan Barlaser as the CM. CB don’t know to be honest. Haven’t really seen any ideal players who I think would come and clubs would be open to sell.We need an experienced Cm and experienced CB then we can genuinely challenge for the play offs
I mean it wouldn’t be a bad move for him. Nice mid table Prem team. But I suspect he wants to move to a club playing European competition at least.
Is 50 points deemed as safe?Another 5 wins to get to 50 points, if we didn't get those by the end of the season I'd be very surprised.
Historically think soIs 50 points deemed as safe?

Nearly always guaranteed safety. Is 50 points deemed as safe?

Usually 50 points is enough but Birmingham went down last year with 50, and in 2016/17 Blackburn went down with 51. That's just looking at the last 10 years.Historically think so
Do you not see the logical conclusion you’re missing? Are we signing our prospects too old?

Teenagers ready to play in the championship are generally out of our price range or will be picked up by bigger clubs.
Plus you can only buy what’s out there.
No.Did you stop reading my post halfway through?
Or anyone to be honestWould be nice to get Schlupp in this week
And we repeat the cycle of ignoring what i said to try in vain to make your opinion valid. You said we would have won more with new signings. How? We literally have lost 1 and won 4 since the window opened. Ill wait for your answer this timeYou’ll be happy when we’ve signed nobody at the end of the window then, constant excuses

Yes I believe so. Last we heard was struggling with wages as it was a loan with a view to him joining permanently in the summerWhat’s our source on this? Has anyone ITK confirmed we’re in for him?

I've always presumed Wright would only stay two years. If he stays a third it's not inconceivable he could start earning the name Wrighty.Cant see Wright going on the summer

20 mill!? We will be lucky to get 4 maybe 6 for Milan and can’t see Sheaf going for same as Vic. Unless inflation has gone up. I’m starting to think Latti or Kitching will be our biggest sell on as lots of people I know really rate them in the scouting world.Cant see Wright going on the summer
