Victor Gyokeres to Man Utd this window would release some cash, £4-12 million, otherwise I'd have said forgedaboutit.
I would be surprised if that happens during the January window due to:
1. Sporting are still in the Champions league and chasing a 2nd Portuguese league title.
2. MU have a FFP issue and need to offload some players, who are on big wages. Ideally they’d sell an academy graduate…. Eg Rashford , but no one is interested at £60m & his wage bill.

More likely a summer move when a lot of players could be offloaded

I heard somewhere that the cause of Kitching being out of favour is because he got himself into some bother on a night out with his boxer brother in Barnsley some time back but it was hushed up and It didn't sit well with the management.
His brother got 7 yrs seems very harsh

Would genuinely try and offload BTA to Stoke if Robins wants him, take a loss. I'm generally positive about our players but i cannot see where he fits in. We'd have been better getting a proper right forward to compete with Sakamoto.

Just reading a couple of Barnsley threads on him and the consensus seems to be he’s not great at defending but is a good “attacking CB” (whatever that is).
Barnsley play with overlapping and underlapping CBs similar to how Sheffield used to play and how I think Mark wanted us to play in possession when we started to build the squad last year.

As such think they’re referring to his passing and dribbling skills and ball retention. Not saying he has them just what I think they mean

All this was fairly well known when or not long after we signed him. Remember a thread on the barnsley forum in 2023 saying kitching and his brother were wrong uns

How was it hushed up? His brother got sent to prison.

there's things happening, you don't announce signings before you have them sealed and saturday is 4 days into the window
Fair enough but Saturday is another game that we wont get much from with further delayed reinforcements if they are indeed coming at all. Waiting until the end of the window is too late IMO.

We could do with nabbing the Sunderland scout. He’s made some cracking signings

Well you say that, but their best players this season have largely been players they had last season and academy products.

Isidor seems to have been a smart signing. As does Mundle.

Personally don’t think Browne or Poveda have been. Poveda looked like a fat mess in his medical video, was actually astounded at that.

The difference is they have a settled squad and have kept the majority of young players that were performing okay last season (with the exception of Jack Clarke).

They went into the season with the fans having very low expectations, but the young players seem to have really kicked on and their squad has a nice balance I think.

I think there’s an important message to our fans regarding player growth and how quickly we can expect results from new / young players. There’s a few we’re not seeing the best of yet for sure.

Quoted from Coventry Evening Telegraph today. Interesting last sentence.

It’s been mentioned before that the current crop of young players have a tendency to be mentally weak at times, clearly lacking leaders and one or two older, more experienced heads to lead by example when things aren’t going to plan. Although the head coach has been coy about the club’s plans in the transfer window, he will surely know by now exactly what he needs in terms of the types of new player and qualities to help turn the side into more consistent competitors because at the minute they’re staring mid-table mediocrity in the face, at best.

The January window is now open, of course, and asked if there’s anything in the pipeline, Lampard told CoventryLive: “No, not as we speak now.”

Wasn’t Robins always told to say that too? I swear we’d be told no signings then two would turn up days later.

We have got to find someone daft enough, or just desperate for a striker, to take BTA off us. It was an awful miss today. Not seen him come on and perform well once for us, always looked worse once he’s on. Will be on good money as well. We simply do not need him.
Played well versus Blackburn and Spurs this season I remember. He's a CF not a winger. Needs more opportunity IMO.

Agreed. Looked good vs blackburn down the middle and clearly had been told to hold the ball up more and stop trying to take people on. I don't rate dasilva but id actually rather him LW than asante
