Most money spent on a deck we have ever had but unfortunately it looks like the deck isn't worth half of what we spent on it now.after Everton pre season I thought our deck was top two feel pretty silly now

It’s only a few players short of being a really good team. The underlying metrics show that, we’re just a naive team defensively and in attack the midfield lacks penetration, both of which were an issue last season. We barely kept a clean sheet from Feb and our record against top half teams was dire last season.
This euphoria going into the season should’ve been tempered because if you look at our business, we hadn’t addressed the lack of quality in midfield and defence. All we’d done is get Rudoni in for COH, Dovin and two strikers for the rotation.
The above is still good business imo. However, we’ve not actually improved our defensive options and we’ve actually let our headcount for CM and AM drop by 2 players without replacing them (Palmer and Kelly). Eccles, Torp and Sheaf, therefore, need to cover more minutes than before. In a 50+ game season, it all adds up and I’m certain that Sheaf’s struggles this season is because he’s just not 100% fit.
Again, we’ve let Godden, Kelly and McFadz leave without adding any experience to the deck and imo, this needs addressing asap. Even 1-2 players who don’t necessarily have to be starters.
