What a season we are having.

If rumours are true, we’re losing one of the best RB’s in the league (and our only one!), our best player (even if off form) and Captain, and one of the only leaders we have in squad.

Good to see we’re continuing to move forward as a club.

Sheaf isn’t our best player.

Sheaf isn’t our best player.
Last year he was, closely followed by Haji. Player and player’s player of the season speaks for itself.

If Wright and now EMC was in the team this last few weeks, we’d be in a far better state because both players make things happen. Torp, Eccles and Sheaf are great at keeping the ball ticking but lack that ruthlessness in the final third which is something that could potentially be levelled at Sakamoto sometimes too.

That said, shoutout to Sakamoto for popping up with goals v Plymouth and Cardiff. He does have a knack for showing up at the right place, at the right time.

You’ve lost your head on day 3 because of a few tidbits with absolutely no firm evidence anyone is coming or going

“what a season we’re having”
“glad we’re still moving forward as a club”

you’ve had a mare mate
Lost my head is a massive stretch.

It’s a comment on a forum. I don’t live on here, this doesn’t impact my life, I don’t take anything on here too seriously.

But I’ll happily give my opinion when I want to.

If we can’t comment on speculation and rumours this would be a pretty quiet place.

But hey, you got a few likes on your post so well done.

It may be surprising to you, but sometimes people have aspirations that are not about money.

Weird reply. I was replying to someone who said he had to succeed. He doesn’t at all. Like Rooney he’ll keep getting hired on his name as long as he wants and when he doesn’t want he has a very cushy life ahead of him.

Maybe it’s about how you think about it ??

to my mind this is how our model works. We bought NVE at a good price. Now a champions league club want to buy him and at a price that will enable us to not only replace him but strengthen other areas too.

We have learnt our lessons from COH and don’t want to lose another key asset on a free and again if we can secure the right deal and right replacement we will sell Sheaf.

In doing both we help Frank reshape the underperforming squad in his image, addressing missing capabilities, and we ensure the club is sustainable.

Doesn't seem that negative to me.

Fully agree with the model and the principle of buying potential and selling on. I have zero issue with that and recognise that’s what we’ll do and I’m fully on board.

My frustration is this season has been anti climatic in terms of performances, in terms of the management drama and now we’re losing players who we haven’t seen the best of this year. They were players who were supposed to be key to our success this year and it’s unfortunately not panned out that way.

We’re now possibly losing them in Jan and it could be seen as an admission the season is done. And however unlikely it is, I’d like to have something to get excited about in H2 of the season. Losing our better players doesn’t help.

My post is a reflection of how this season has been a disappointment really.

And I’ll clarify, I’m not losing my head or whatever, I’m just giving a view.

I can still see the logic and positives to it, yet still be disappointed.

So does Rudoni.
Saka needs to get more crosses in. No point beating a man twice and then can't cross it. That pull back onto his favoured left foot has become too predictable for defenders.

Correct. I’d actually like to see Sakamoto play LW. His right foot isn’t the best and his cross for the equaliser v Sunderland was a peach.

Likewise, in the absence of our wingers, I could see Eccles doing a decent job at RM with his crossing, some of his assists this year have been great - particularly Thomas’ opening goal v Boro.

Maybe a change in shape is needed until Wright and EMC return.

Looking at his transtermarkt has he never played since signing for £4m? Right player on paper though.
quick google seems to suggest a lot of injuries and the a huge bust up with the manager to the point he's not even training with the first team or in the group photo of every male and female player at the club.

you'd be worried about how ready to go a player was who hasn't played in years and isn't even in first team training.

Understatement of the season so far.
I’m just really sceptical of us playing with wingbacks. Maybe 3-4-3 could work but struggling to fit the 4 players into that system we’re mooted to be playing today.

Only 30 minutes now until the team sheet is announced.

Sporting were held to a 4-4 draw.

If they let us play with 16 players I doubt we would be very good, just slow.

He’s playing regularly for the Palace U23s/U20s so is at least getting some minutes under his belt. Had a mate who reffed in a game he played in and was apparently v good.

As you say, different ball game playing in the Championship. This season, he might be a bit undercooked but could be a great signing over a 2-4 year deal.
