We aren’t going down and we aren’t going up.
Don’t see the damage in allowing players who don’t want to be here and/or make us profit leaving now.
It gives FL the chance to get 1/2 in now and know what he’s working (squad and money wise) with in the summer. Also means players who are going to be here next season get definite game time and become more used to FL and the way he wants to play.
Let’s be honest we need a re-build so the sooner the better.
However, it’s absolutely shite we’re in this position. High hopes at the start of the season seem like a distant memory.
We’re really going to watch half our squad leave for better teams and claim the issue was the squad quality
This. All the cards. We actually are likely to have a pretty large pot come summer. MVE, sheaf and potentially wright - add in viktor and maybe Hamer sell on. And not forgetting and additional Lati + out favour /out contract moves? That's one good thing, at least we hold all the cards with regards to sales, decent contract lengths.
I think you're wrong in terms of saying we wont have another go after this. This is literally the model. Sell, invest, sell, invest etc….This. All the cards. We actually are likely to have a pretty large pot come summer. MVE, sheaf and potentially wright - add in viktor and maybe Hamer sell on. that could fund huge turnover. All isn’t lost, but we won’t likely get another go after this.
Depends on who we invest this money in ….This. All the cards. We actually are likely to have a pretty large pot come summer. MVE, sheaf and potentially wright - add in viktor and maybe Hamer sell on. And not forgetting and additional Lati + out favour /out contract moves?

Some people also seem to have forgotton, moving players on for profit is the model !!! So when it happens can’t moan!
Granted you don’t do it in masssive chunks ideally!
Maybe worded wrong, you’re right that should always be the way.I think you're wrong in terms of saying we wont have another go after this. This is literally the model. Sell, invest, sell, invest etc….
And who’s selecting the proposed deck still…….Depends on who we invest this money in ….
Yeah that's true. But with this we will invest in a number of players with the hope 2/3 go for big money and then we’re good again. Can't expect all transfers to work…And who’s selecting the proposed deck still…….
Completely agree. I don't think we particularly want players here who's heads have been turned anyway. Having that contract advantage is peaceful.This. All the cards. Totally agree, clear a few “heads” had gone after August and late deals . And thinking back didn’t Mark make some comments at end of season about players being committed / agents agitating etc…..Completely agree. Compared to years gone by, it makes a change to not be feeling too anxious come transfer window time.
January as we know is notoriously a harder month to recruit, so hopefully we are serious about keeping our key players this month, and we bring in the necessary competition, even if just to see us to the summer.
More cutting edge analysis pleaseGood midfielders come from the efl
Alright managers have kept picking him I trust their judgement better than someone like myself who just sit and pick faults and our forum must be worst of all for that.Don’t have any badges at all. Nor did some of the best managers there have ever been. I watch the guy every week. You don’t need to be the love child of Bill Shankly and Pep to see he’s not a good CH.
Nah our forum spectacular compared to mostAlright managers have kept picking him I trust their judgement better than someone like myself who just sit and pick faults and our forum must be worst of all for that.
Agree, but you also have to develop them. Look at Vic and Gus when they first came. They developed considerably. Also, O'Hare, Sheaf and Eccles. In fact, virtually all our players got better over the tenure of Robins and Viveash. This year virtually all the players have gone backwards and are worse than last season, albeit with Robins still here. The question is, what has changed? Pretty obvious to me, although it is early days for Lampard's staff. It is a model of operating but let’s be honest if you’re not a certain 6-10 clubs you’re always a selling club. As has been said at least we hold some cards in terms of contract length. The absolute key to this working is to be constantly able to identify the next gem.
We have fewer moaners than other forums? Many on here would end up with no players the amount of them they want moved on NOW..Nah our forum spectacular compared to most
Yeah, I think I do remember him making some comments like that actually. Agents see the dollar signs and love to agitate.Totally agree, clear a few “heads” had gone after August and late deals . sad to probably right season off, but we should be planning now for the summer and revamp. The big revamp!! Also think we have another year option on wright in our favour, so if he goes it’s big big money (over double what we paid and some)
as you say, hopefully enough in this month to see us through also.
Lati and Thomas are obviously very different players. But i would never have thought the distinction between them is that Thomas has more technical ability?!As much as it seems like I’m shitting on him in this thread, Lati does have some excellent qualities (pretending the smiling incident didn’t happen) and despite slightly lacking in the technical department, technical skills and ability on the ball are not everything (Kevin Thornton…).
Thomas has the technical ability, just issues with concentration and decision making and can be somewhat lackadaisical with his passes between the lines.
Fair enough. It’s all about opinions. I’m not driven by picking fault, far from it. But in the closing stages against Norwich a proper centre half doesn’t fall over blatantly looking for a free kick. They just defend.Alright managers have kept picking him I trust their judgement better than someone like myself who just sit and pick faults and our forum must be worst of all for that.
If we hung on against Norwich and had of got a winner against 10 man Cardiff we would only be 6 points off playoffs with wright and emc due back you would have almost fancied us to make a late charge for the playoffs or am I just a dreamerYeah, I think I do remember him making some comments like that actually. Hate to think of the season as a write off, after all I'm sure most of us had a food feeling about this year. I can't help but always try and remain optimistic.
Having Wright and EMC back come the end of January, and hopefully a good couple of signings, could be the boost needed for the fans at least.
Would like to see a climb up the table and some guts shown at minimum, from every single one of them.
Plus that miss against MillwallIf we hung on against Norwich and had of got a winner against 10 man Cardiff we would only be 6 points off playoffs with wright and emc due back you would have almost fancied us to make a late charge for the playoffs or am I just a dreamer

Thomas looks much better with the ball at his feet.Lati and Thomas are obviously very different players. But i would never have thought the distinction between them is that Thomas has more technical ability?!
So many ifs and buts, it's frustrating. If we hung on against Norwich and had of got a winner against 10 man Cardiff we would only be 6 points off playoffs with wright and emc due back you would have almost fancied us to make a late charge for the playoffs or am I just a dreamer

Nah Thomas is far more comfortable on the ball. No idea how anyone could watch us and think Lati is. He looks terrified when he receives it under any pressure. There’s a reason Lati is pressed and Thomas isnt, because Lati is more comfortable on the ball and Thomas makes mistakes without pressure. Lati is better technically hence why he played for Russel Martin at Swansea. Thomas is a bruiser good physical Center half
I think Lati is a lot more composed, again there is a reason Lati is targeted for pressure (because he’s a lot more comfortable) you need to force an error out of him whereas Thomas every game has an unforced error or two in him, I’d much rather him not have to think and lump it (but with Haji and Simms to knock it on or down)Nah Thomas is far more comfortable on the ball. As shit and all as we have been we would only be 4 pts off play offs nowPlus that miss against Millwall
Sorry, that is not true. Lati rarely gives the ball away.Nah Thomas is far more comfortable on the ball. No idea how anyone could watch us and think Lati is. He looks terrified when he receives it under any pressure.
