Yeh tbh I think we certainly look to have shown more ambition than most Championship clubs recently, whether it's entirely worked yet is another thing.I doubt the players give 2 hoots about Doug.
He pays them on time and in full, and he’s made money available to Austin and Robins to improve the team. Whether they have done that well or not isn’t really something that players would blame the owner for.
He’s pressured because of the complete opposite.I think Lati is a lot more composed, again there is a reason Lati is targeted for pressure (because he’s a lot more comfortable) you need to force an error out of him whereas Thomas every game has an unforced error or two in him, I’d much rather him not have to think and lump it (but with Haji and Simms to knock it on or down)
So you think just throw a load of money we haven't got at it is the solution? Where does it stop ? How much do you want him to put in ? Everything he puts in becomes an additional debt of the club.If I was wright I would want out, our recruitment has been shocking and is nowhere near matching a players ambition of playing in the premier league. Doug the fraud needs to spend some of his own money like he promised us all the ‘dream big aim high’

it's almost like people have forgot how badly throwing cash didn't have about cost us last timeSo you think just throw a load of money we haven't got at it is the solution? Where does it stop ? How much do you want him to put in ? Everything he puts in becomes an additional debt of the club.
Hindsight and all but should have sold Vik and put the cash to new contracts for Hamer and O’Hare and then put a hard limit on new signings of £2-3M IMO.
I could be wrong so please correct me but didn’t Luton have a profit of a million the year they went up?You can’t survive let alone compete in this league running a profit. Anyone who bought a club thinking otherwise is an idiot.
That's absolutely not what I saidYou can’t survive let alone compete in this league running a profit. Anyone who bought a club thinking otherwise is an idiot.
He also has a very valid view of keeping us as a self sustainable club without running up huge debts. You can’t survive let alone compete in this league running a profit. Anyone who bought a club thinking otherwise is an idiot.

Doug king knows best bro, that’s why we’ve gone so far backwards this seasonI wanted to take the risk even if Hamer wouldn't sign a contract. Could have had one solid shot at promotion, Hamer feeding balls through for Simms and Wright. We'd have comfortably made the play offs at the bare minimum.
He also has a very valid view of keeping us as a self sustainable club without running up huge debts.
And my point was completely differentWe won’t ever be self sustainable until we leave this division one way or another.
I’m not saying run up huge debts, I’m saying he was always going to have to put money in as an owner at this level.
On this last accounts show he put in six million when he took us over in January 2023. Without the accounts for 2023/24 it’s hard to say he’s put in no money whether that is day to day operations, stadium and training ground upgrades or player fundsWe won’t ever be self sustainable until we leave this division one way or another.

That progressive carries stat is useless for centrebacks.71st percentile for progressive carries vs Champ CBs is close to good, although maybe slightly warped by his games at RB where he would have more scope to carry the ball. Eye test and metrics show he's a below average CB in this league. Seems like a nice guy but for 1 million plus, he should be sold.
And my point was completely different
Just waiting for you to put some numbers to your policy of throwing money at transfers . Any idea what happened last time the club did this ?Doug king knows best bro, that’s why we’ve gone so far backwards this season
Wanting him to spend a couple million on a few players won’t put us in administration, stop being deluded it’s called ‘ambition’ something he clearly doesn’t have unless we’ve sold one of our best playersJust waiting for you to put some numbers to your policy of throwing money at transfers . Conversely he's also invested in areas of the club. Again you're putting words in my mouth. Is selling and reinvesting dead in the water as an option all of a sudden ?I think he’s made some big mistakes that are going to be costly to fix. There’s no way around that and shutting up shop cos he’s blown all the money is only going to harm the club.

To be fair we’ve spent 45 Million in the last two windows. It’s not about the amount we are spending but how we are spendingWanting him to spend a couple million on a few players won’t put us in administration, stop being deluded it’s called ‘ambition’ something he clearly doesn’t have unless we’ve sold one of our best players
"Couple of million on a few players ". How many X a couple of million ? You talk as if it's pocket money . And don't forget you've also got to pay them. I suggest that the delusion is yours .Wanting him to spend a couple million on a few players won’t put us in administration, stop being deluded it’s called ‘ambition’ something he clearly doesn’t have unless we’ve sold one of our best players

In principle, I agree, but I'm doubtful Hamer would have signed the contract offer with PL football being offered.Hindsight and all but should have sold Vik and put the cash to new contracts for Hamer and O’Hare and then put a hard limit on new signings of £2-3M IMO.
He might with time. But feel we’ve talked about this to deathI think he actually believed Lampard was an elite coach who would get more out of these players. It’s a stupid belief but he’s stupid so…

How many millions do you have in the bank through being stupid?I think he actually believed Lampard was an elite coach who would get more out of these players. It’s a stupid belief but he’s stupid so…
You just carry on being happy with us getting weaker then, even if we get relegated you’ll still be backing king"Couple of million on a few players ". How many X a couple of million ? I
Maybe not but I always took the three times in Five years discussion as being three years to go for it and two rebuilds.Haha I wasn’t trying to start a Lampard convo up I promise. But I do think he believed he wouldn’t have to rebuild the whole squad when he sacked Robins.
