No idea what you’re referring to re Rhys Carr, but people are blind if they think Simms is a good footballer. He will be third choice once Wright and EMC are both fit btw.

He was not forced out wide, it’s his preferred position. He’s not a conventional striker, more a wide forward as part of a 3 in attack.

He’s been 100% more effective as a wide forward than part of a two man attack.

He has looked better for us on the left I agree.

However, all our strikers look pretty rubbish through the middle. I think a big part of that is not the player themselves but rather our formation/system often leaves the lone striker very isolated and with little support or service.

He has 131 career games at centre forward with 59 goals. From the left he has 40 appearances and 13 goals.

I'm not sure if things may be a little more complex there. If I understand what he means correctly then it may depend on Lati and his movement in the window, as he can cover RB. That's why he said watch for outgoings.
