Finding it hilarious that Nick & Torchomatic (Sixfielders funnily enough) are reacting so hysterically to a remark which essentially assists Sisu in their plan to build a new stadium.
Oh, what's that? They don't intend to and will continue on the route of any means necessary litigation to get what they want?
Oh dear.....
Well of course it does. I care more about keeping my job than any of the city's sports clubs so I don't see why the council would be any different.
Ah yes, that article is of course just intended to clarify the law. You must think people are stupid
Hardly hysterical is it? It is just pointing out more bullshit but it obviously doesn't taste as nice as SISU bullshit
But you know yourself that half the people on this forum think that there is no point in applying for a site in Coventry because the council will refuse. It needs pointing out that such an idea is completely wrong. The council cannot do that.

Hardly? Your wide on is that big every post you type has an echo
Hardly hysterical is it? It is just pointing out more bullshit but it obviously doesn't taste as nice as SISU bullshit
It is also funny that people get accused of defending SISU, usually by the people in this thread, defending the council till the death
I also know that more than half the people on this forum will not see through that article, the same as they didn't actually realise that CCFC couldn't actually buy the Higgs share.....All they will see is "ahhh council good, booo SISU bad" (not that they need reminding of the SISU part)
It is clearly just a PR stunt, isn't it? The tone has certainly changed from his tweets hasn't it?
Some obviously are. They say that the evil council will never deal with poor old SISU because of the broken relationship. He is just pointing out that he could not turn down people just because he doesn't like them. Now some of them say he is up to no good and protecting his arse. I think he is just stating the obvious and it doesn't change anything. SISU may be many things, but they are not stupid. They are well aware about what CCC can do or can't do, no matter what Maton says. They are sitting with an army of lawyers waiting to pounce and they are not going to build a stadium in Coventry ( no, I don't have Insider knowledge, but you have explained why yourself ). I know it was tongue in cheek....;-)
Trouble with you Nick, and a minority of others on here, is that you cannot make the distinction between football club and owners of the football club.Hardly hysterical is it? It is just pointing out more bullshit but it obviously doesn't taste as nice as SISU bullshit
It is also funny that people get accused of defending SISU, usually by the people in this thread, defending the council till the death
So did Kevin Maton seek out Smon or vice-versa?
It's a question that has been posed on here many many times over the last year ?
What of the timing ?
Did the council offer the football club all of ACL for £5.5m?
Why would they ?
If they did Wasps would be gone and Sisu fight to bring it down to zero continues.
Think about it !!
And you are exactly the type of person that article was aimed atTrouble with you Nick, and a minority of others on here, is that you cannot make the distinction between football club and owners of the football club.
I don't want Sisu anywhere near that fucking Ricoh. Anything that puts the ball in their court with regard to building their own serves to ratchet up the pressure, but it would seem you don't get that Maton's statement was intended to do that, do you?
The council cares more about covering it's own arse than the city's sports clubs. Lucas' picture with the Wasps players sums that up quite well.
And you are exactly the type of person that article was aimed at
Of course I can see a difference between club and owners, hence I go and watch my team play while others refuse because of the owners, maybe it's then struggling to see the difference?
I think they can see the difference too Nick. But they feel what happens at one automatically effects the other and by staying away it's doing the best (long term) for the club. I'm with you, I feel it's best to attend at the moment but I can see where they are coming from.
Care to elaborate on what type of person that article was aimed at? Your the one getting in a right old tizz about it.And you are exactly the type of person that article was aimed at

Club owners do impact on teams performances btw, transfer policy, appointments etc.
Probably about as much as you are trying to do to take this off topic to deflect the fact this Maton fella seems to have been to bullshit college with SISU and WASPS but people will treat everything he says as gospel as a stick to use to beat the club with (which it was intended to do) without questioning him.
First of all, can I just say calm down dear!Wait a minute, it was you just trying to patronise me about not being able to tell the difference between the club and the owners? So now they are sort of the same thing as they have a big impact?
To me I support the club, SISU could go tits up and they all have to work in McDonalds for all I care, The councillors could all be sacked off as well. As long as it doesnt bother the club in anyway.
It was aimed at people who fall for any old shit as long as it pretty much says "SISU BAD". They may as well just print that on a bit of paper and listen to the cheers.
I don't doubt they are bad, they are also just as guilty as doing shocking press releases like this that are transparent, but you will now have people thinking "Oh great, the council are going to help the club build a stadium, aren't they wonderful?" and "But the council said they could have this land and build it there, why wont they?". It will happen, that is what it was aimed to do. You can read that a mile off can't you?
How many people were thinking that CCFC could buy the Higgs share after their last PR outing "inviting" an offer that could never have happened? I heard / saw plenty saying that.
Can just see the local news sub heading now...
Cllr Maton in Sisu planning application remark shocker!
Ooh I dunno, Les Reid still writes for the local press, albeit the Observer. You must be joking, you wouldn't see anything showing a councillor up in local news....
What have Sisu done to help the Ebola outbreak in West Africa?
I haven't read the thread all the way through but the obvious reasons politicians are trying to cosy up to the club is that there is an election five months away.
bastards didn't want to cosy up to us in the last decade or so did they, fuck them and I hope the Cov voting public remember what they did to the club.
just a note to say Sisu are bastards too, but the council should hang their collective heads in shame
It seems everyone is missing the bleeding obvious.
When CCC owned ACL and Wasps were not around then obviously the CCC would not want a second stadium in the city as that would leave the Ricoh empty.
Now that wasps own ACL the CCC are more than happy to have a second stadium as it means more regeneration of the city plus a home for the club.
No conspiracy theories, no PR, just bloody good sense.
The stupidity of some people on here, especially Nick, Grendell, and Torch is truly staggering. Try engaging your brains guys, FFS.
