It aint big enough.
25,000 stadium, retail, hotel, student accommodation and Car parking.
Same as the joint training facilities.
It's deflection by the lying idiot and a few people are going to lap it up.
Nobody is lapping it up are they?

We need our own stadium blaa blaa blaa I've heard that one before and still no progress made. In the short term if u sold a few players to buy a site/start building ur own stadium u could put up with it but to just take that money out of the club is soul destroying

A timely set of minutes before MPs discuss Coventry in parliament and meeting with football league.

Yes I agree but as said by stupot07 what he said needs to be taken with a huge pinch of fresh salt but he some comments were really interesting and realistic. I don't think he is a bad bloke per se but he just tells us what we want to hear. He is just a mouthpiece. Sisu are the money men and they have withdrawn funding and won't drop the legals something fisher seems a bit peeved about.

I like how he said on Chris Anderson he just went back to his previous role. There was us speculating for days and pages on this website but it was as simple as going back to what he did before. This website can make you go insane. Thanks Nick.

If you're talking about the Butts there is nothing saying it would all have to be on the same site

I do not think anyone has proved SISU are taking player sales money out are they

As a point of interest did you know the agreement to move CCFC to the Ricoh was based on a cash flow which anticipated the sale of a player each season just to pay the rent?
Just look at the parties involved in that!

Are the people lapping it up on another thread? As on this one people seem to discussing it in a sensible mature manner. No wonder you're struggling with it...

He said they had institutional investors interested in the project
Institutional investors make money from property unit sales and rents etc
... including rent on stadiums that will need to be competitive to pay them back. 25,000 seater stadiums don't come cheap.

I have no idea any more than you
But you don't believe it anyway so I cannot understand why you are even considering it
well we pay only £100,000 now, so rent for the investment required would be much higher in the real world.
But talk of this is not

How am supposed to believe it when there is nothing tangible to substantiate it? What is there to consider? Tim's word? We all know what that's worth.

It would be like a Tesco type thing wouldn't it? I wonder how a hotel chain would get involved with the premier inn next door .

Quite easily. Premier Inn is a mid-tier brand. A 4 star could rock up and they'd effectively be after different markets.

Quote TF: So, Butts park, where are we? We’ve previously developed a scheme which comprises a stadium, residential, a hotel, student housing and retail. The massing exercises and financial modelling shows it works and we have two potential institutional investors interested in the development. This scheme would be good for Coventry City as a club, Coventry as a City and the community - providing inward investment.

However, at this time the development scheme will not move forward. There is a political embargo. The club cannot move forward on the site. The council want the owners of the club to stop legal proceedings. I cannot influence this situation at all. I can only focus on the things I can influence and that I can change.

However, if at some moment in the future – scintilla temporis - the political embargo is set aside or falls away then we would have an opportunity to potentially build-out Butts Park

In brief, the development scheme is as follows: A stadium that can hold between 23,000-25,000 supporters – dependent on the allocation and number of corporate boxes and lounges. Student accommodation, two bed and one bed residential, 25,000 square feet of retail. However, at the moment, the scheme is simply set to one side because of the political embargo. We can’t take it forward currently. End Quote

Where is the mention this would be good for CRFC? I thought it was the Rugby Club's initiative but all the comments make it appear that they have nothing to do with the development of the Butts. Is Jon Sharp now working for SISU /CCFC
