We had one - GilesYou seem to expect us to have first class back ups in every position
Who was recalled by his parent clubWe had one - Giles
Because of the way robins treated the lad it was clear who the favourite wasWho was recalled by his parent club
McCallum probably favorite because we shipped less goals with him in the team. Not saying Giles is a bad player but we were better with McCallum inBecause of the way robins treated the lad it was clear who the favourite was
My mistake, but I still wouldn't have recalled him.He was on the bench on Saturday
Weird he thought Baka was tho didn’t he even offered him a new dealRegarding Brandon Mason. He had a decent spell in the team in league one. We changed formation and he was the player that missed out. He come back pre-season where the professional coaches deemed that he is not good enough for the championship.
Now call me a fool but the professional coaches watch every player closely in every training session. They then decide if a player either is up to the standard or can potentially reach the necessary standard.
It’s clear that in their professional opinion Mason isn’t at the required level.
Baka was 4th choice striker in a position where we might start with two strikers depending on formation. We let Mason go when we secured both McCallum and Giles meaning he wouldn’t even get on the bench. Then when Giles was recalled in January we signed a left back who is obviously rated more highly than Mason is.Weird he thought Baka was tho didn’t he even offered him a new deal
At the time he was loaned out we were consistently playing wing-backs, which wasn't his strength, and we had 2 loaned in. It made sense for him to get game time elsewhere. However as we have seen we sometimes revert back to playing with a back 4 and McCallum has looked vulnerable. Mason was very good in league 1 and started preseason, albeit used rarely, looking sharp. Reid was signed mainly for development and was injured, so it seemed sensible to bring Mason back to cover McCallum and to start if playing a back 4. I agree the staff clearly don't seem to want him back but I don't think they would rate his ability less than an inexperienced injured newcomer (for the remainder of the season at least).Regarding Brandon Mason. Who we gonna play there in the 2nd half when Shipley is blowing out his arse?Stick with wing backs and play Shippers there. Left footed, can get crosses in, and the role will force him to hold position.
I agree. I cannot see how he will have anywhere near the energy for the role, but maybe it will be the making of him. He certainly should be able to deliver balls into the box if given the time to do so.Who we gonna play there in the 2nd half when Shipley is blowing out his arse?
Sounds like a question on would I lie to youShipley played left back in a trophy game against Shrewsbury a few years ago and he was excellent.
