Incredibly they still have double Southampton's points total. What a waste of a top flight spot that was. What a season this could be for them...
They're one of the worst teams in PL history, we go up via the Playoffs & Forest get into the Champions League. Beautiful.
The Leicester fans I know are convinced it'll happen this time around. What a season this could be for them...

It’s pretty toxic at Southampton who presumably expected even less!We would go up not expecting much.
Just like Leicester they expected much more. It’s pretty toxic at Southampton who presumably expected even less!
Only those without a clue would. We’d be calling for Lampards head come October.

Took some. Many still backed him.Took ten games of bad form for us to turn on Robins and he was the longest serving, most successful and most well liked manager in my lifetime.
Took some. Many still backed him.
But playing at Prem level should mean everyone being more realistic.

Well, for a small number of us. Most were still behind him.Took ten games of bad form for us to turn on Robins and he was the longest serving, most successful and most well liked manager in my lifetime.

Ah you meant the club. We were also in very bad form for a similar stretch in 23/24, the club stuck with him.Not the one that matters though.
I backed him then and when he was dismissed. My low moment came in L1. We lost away at Shrewsbury and I couldn't see how he was going to turn it around. He did and I'm grateful. It was because of that, why I was always prepared to believe we could turn it again and if you look at all the successful teams, in recent times, they have longevity and the manager is usually in for a number of window. I'd give Lampard the same support even if we lost every game in the Prem, knowing we'd be stronger the season after and with parachute payments too.Ah you meant the club. That run of form in 23/24 would have cost most Championship managers their job, not because it’s right, just because that’s the nature of the league. King gave him more time and was justified in the end.I backed him then and when he was dismissed. My low moment came in L1. What does this mean exactly Gynn?Apparently they've already had their parachute payments selling the rights to Maquarie Bank
They've had it advance,if it's accurate, what have they done with it,who knows? What does this mean exactly Gynn?
Are the knives out for McKenna at Ipswich? This illusion that we're a totally different fanbase from Leicester (or indeed anyone else) is complete bollocks.
Historically pretty similar to Leicester..... similar crowds, similar cities, similar history. If we got promoted and have a crap season, the knives will be out for Lampard and King before long.
I think King had saw the signs the year before and had to act, it was mostly the same squad and they were drifting. King made the right decision for both Robins and the club. Unpopular decision but maybe Robins had reached his ceiling, although not proven yet if Stoke survive it will be interesting to watch them next season to see if he turns them around. That run of form in 23/24 would have cost most Championship managers their job, not because it’s right, just because that’s the nature of the league. This season I thought he deserved more time, King this time did not and by any measure, his decision was justified. It was perhaps even what MR himself needed.
I can only quote the one Ipswich fan I regularly speak to and he is appalled at McKennas tactics. They are seemingly bound to get relegated if they carry on playing the way they currently are. Tried to explain to him that becoming a yo-yo team isnt the end of the world. I strongly suspect he had visions of Ipswich repeating the brilliant season under George Burley where they qualified for the UEFA cup 1st season after promotion. Was never, ever going to happen this time round despite their spending on new players. Are the knives out for McKenna at Ipswich?
Going from League 1 to the Prem in straight seasons is an incredibly tough ask in itself, never mind staying there. They haven't disgraced themselves and I imagine most of their fans are still behind him.I can only quote the one Ipswich fan I regularly speak to and he is appalled at McKennas tactics. Could well be. The only plans we know of from King is to get promoted. But new owner getting rid of LampardI wonder if a mid season takeover and new manager wouldn’t be on the cards anyway. I strongly suspect Doug doesn’t want to keep us longer than necessary.

It wouldn't surprise me if they found yet another way of misinterpreting the rules. But the rules should be good enough for this not to help their cheating the system. Loaning the money from a company or owner should be covered in the same way. It should be spent at the same moment. Transfer fees and wages are paid out whatever.
List of outstanding charges on companies house. As I understand it, Macquarie loan Leics money up front that they would have received in later installments of a transfer. At a hefty interest rate I suspect.

This is one of the outstanding charges, which I assume relates to Timothy Castagne who moved to Fulham on August 29, 2023 for £13m. So Leics will get f all on 31st Aug 2025 as that'll go straight to Macquarie to satisfy the charge. Legally of course this is all fine, but I do wonder if they do this as another way of bypassing the PSR rules. It's also kicking the debt's can down the road ofc...

I hope so, never have I wanted a team to be punished as muchIt wouldn't surprise me if they found yet another way of misinterpreting the rules. Could be that they have taken a massive gamble on staying up and it has fantastically backfired
They have pissed off both the EFL and the PLFA. Can't see anything but the pair of them getting together to make sure something sticks.I hope so, never have I wanted a team to be punished as much
Their bending and playing the rules over time has really pissed me off
Time for a reckoning from the EFL
Is this a kind of repeat of Leeds under Ridsdale and O:Leary? It wouldn't surprise me if they found yet another way of misinterpreting the rules. I would say very similar. Leeds need to go up this season, sell or get some serious money from somewhere. But as far as I know they have kept within the rules so far.Is this a kind of repeat of Leeds under Ridsdale and O:Leary?

Unless they have worked out another way to beat the rules that are set in black and white it shouts of desperation for cash.So reading a bit more into this, I don't think it's interest bearing, more that Macquarie have loaned Leics less than the money they'll receive from other clubs installments/EPL monies. eg so they sold Maddison for £40m, Macquarie gives them £35m up front and then waits to receive the £40m over time in the planned installments.
Seems like it gets around a loan from the owners which would fall under PSR.
