He's a bit like Eddie the Eagle except his goal would be if Eddie suddenly pulled off an outrageously long jump, just once, never repeated and just went back to normal.

He is very raw, but has lots of potential just needs to focus and improve in certain areas. A defender is there just hope he matures and calms down.

Just took a look on the Barnsley forum to see what there thoughts were on us signing Kitch and came across this thread.

Few on there seem to think he's a bit of a bad apple and it'd do him good to get out of Barnsley, but as far as I'm aware he commutes down every day.

No wonder he can't concentrate for 90 minutes then. That's a terrible journey. There's about 50 miles of 50mph restrictions for a start. That could be 3 hours each way based on my experiences driving to West Yorkshire regularly over the past few months.

This is beating a dead horse, but someone who works at the city confirmed in there words “Liam kitching is an absolute toxic c**t and the staff don’t know why he’s playing”.

What he was trying to do for Shef Wed equaliser on Sat was beyond me .
Couple of times I compared what he did with what we saw McF do in similar situations for years, i.e. just head the ball back over his head towards the keeper. Kitching either can't do that technique or he only knows heading the ball forwards.

Makes it even stranger that MR reportedly pursued him for so long.

The footballing world isn’t massive, surely the due diligence was done.

So either the rumours are bollocks, we didn’t do our homework or MR thought he could manage it.

Regardless he’s poor at the minute and I prefer Binks.

Thinking it might be two since the performance director has put personality testing as a key part of the transfer policy. But yeah heard it from someone with links. Also heard about another player but haven’t heard anything about them before so not sure what to make of it,

The Performance Director arrived 3-4 months after we signed Kitching. I’m pretty sure she joined in January 2024, so hasn’t been involved with most of the squad being signed.

That’s my point tho, if he is such a twat wouldn’t they make it a priority to avoid twats moving forward. We know the personality thing is new and is something there working on

I know I said give them five games but Kitching and Wilson are shocking and Bidders is injured so fuck it go back to Binks and Dovin while we’re changing the back line.

Face it. It was a terrible bit of business bringing him to the club. He's talentless with a poor attitude. He quickly got over losing on Saturday by spending a “great afternoon” on Sunday with McFazdean and Overson.

You can’t drop that and not finish, who is the other one?!

Hate to say it but it was suggested that Sheaf had put the letter in,whether that was as captain or not who knows, also not beyond the realms of possibility that some of them are playing to expose them?

Explain how he was supposed to head that 40 yards back to Wilson 🤣

Unlikely it's true considering Kitching captained Barnsley. They're hardly going to pick a problem attitude as captain, unless their manager was completely inept. And as they made the play offs, it doesn't appear that way.

When it was rumoured we were signing him I watched the game he was feckin useless gave a pen away and got sent off, I am no football scout by any stretch and thought shit I hope its the left back we're signing and not him, he didn't look arsed to be fair...about the same now, lets just say if we were in the trenches I wouldn't stand next to him

I heard Barnsley fans say that was an isolated game, if it's the one I'm thinking of, and it was put down to the fact he knew he had a move, and so was distracted one way or another. I think he had a downturn in form which coincided with when that move was being hashed out, sounded like he wanted the transfer.

He's playing like someone who hasn't really had much game time for months, and to be fair he hasn't. Writing him off would be unhelpful, as he's an investment for the club so it doesn't do anyone any good. You wouldn't buy a car for 20k, breakdown, and then leave it to rust in the garage.
