So do you not feel motivating the lads to play for 9+4 minutes would be a good quality that Thorn seems to lack? I think now the lads know they are really in the schtum they are giving their all to try and keep the club up. I believe that Thorn has had little to do with the recent ability to play for the whole match instead of switching off in the final 10-15 minutes.
To be honest I don't see it as a motivation issue (disclaimer: I'm a ST holder who doesn't go to away games) I see it as a squad size issue. The players are tired and his options are limited. And to be fair, you can't blame Thorn for all that goes wrong then credit the players with all that goes right.
Do I think he has more to learn? Of course it's his first full season.
Do I think there is anyone significantly better who we could afford? Not really.
Do I think there's value in giving a manager time to develop a club? Most definitely.
