no...but there's a rapidly growing market for stolen food.

People hawking stolen meat, cheese & coffee in pubs & out the boot of cars in the same way they used to sell sportswear and makeup.

I was being offered meat and cheese in dodgy pubs years ago!

Food poverty is definitely and issue, and the classic Aladdin story of stealing some bread to eat I’ve got no issues with. But a lot like the riots in 2011, while a few may have righteous reasons, a large amount are just taking the piss for profit.

I’ve been in two pubs recently where stuff was being almost robbed to order. It was washing powder in one and meat in the other.

Without casting aspersions, the sellers did look like they had a penchant for smack.
