Yeah but he’s young and if I were them I’d keep hold and see if he either develops next season where they can sell for more with two years left still or they get relegated and want to make use of him.

Yes definitely, I agree.

As a side note it’s an indictment of the shit inequalities in this division that were excited talking about maybe being able to sign the sixth choice CB of another team in the same division but only if he plays badly so bigger clubs don’t Nick him.

Not far off people hoping that somebody could extend Lee Borge’s injury so Stockdale would stay longer.

Catch 22. We only have a chance of signing him if he's absolute rubbish, then we wouldn't want him.

I always thought a journey man would have loads more clubs with a lot less appearances for each.

Isn't journeyman someone who trudges around, doing alright but never pulling up trees?

When was Doyle’s contract going to originally end? It’s been known that to extend the contract to cover both bases if he progresses or if not can obtain a fee.

He’s alright is Callum Doyle. May go on to big things. We’ve had far better than him though, and will again at this level.

Far better Centre back loanies?

Doyle has got better and his passing ability is bloody brilliant for an lanky defender. He’s a learning footballer and I can forgive some of his mistakes.

Can’t really thing of any good CB we’ve had on loan (at this level) apart from Clarke-Salter & even he made mistakes (don’t mention the injuries) & when we played QPR at home most on here thought glad we didn’t sign him!

Ok fair enough. I’ll accept that.

What’s the word for a player who’s 36 in February with that track record?

6 clubs isn't a journeyman , better get on the phone to fernando torres and tell him he's a journeyman

1) he doesn’t take my calls but maybe when you get through tell him you’re (not me) comparing him to a bloke whose never played above the second domestic tier and whose has actually played only for Cov, Burton, MK Dons, Crawley Town and Alfreton.

2) I’ll repeat McFadzean has real qualities and has surprised me this season, the fact that we are so dependent upon him indicates the depth of our problem.

We actually changed our approach to fit Fadz being in the team.

Yes when he was in the team we conceded way less but we were playing a very deep 5 at the back.

We scored a lot less too and played more counter attacking.

The formation and style suited McFadz as he didn’t need to worry about someone out pacing him because we were so deep and we had plenty of players around him if he did make a mistake (which he did because he is most definitely capable of one).

Fadz positional sense and his ability to head almost anything (apart from the Blackpool game against Gary Madine).

Fadz is not the long term answer but we really missing his leadership and experience.

I certainly think we’ll have more assured defenders. There’s often a glimpse of inexperience or rash/rushed decision. Agree with the passing, but that’s only sometimes. Can excuse him as he’s very young, but looks ahead of his time.

Mind you, we will have much better defenders than Rose and Panzo too, I hope.

Ostigard was a better defender. Nowhere near as good with the ball though

Doyle has considerably more talent than Clarke Salter. I know which one I think will go further in the game.

Doyle has a lot of learn but in a few years time should be a top player, although not necessarily at Man City.

No he wasn't. I remember a game at QPR when he was totally out of his depth, much more so than Doyle against Norwich. His passing was terrible.
