Mumblings on twitter that Gills have accepted a bid for Luke Norris from us. He's a 23yr old forward but Can't see us spending money on transfers personally.

  • Could not believe the rumours of a six figure bid for Norris...

But they are are obviously true!

Fair play to Luke and I wish him all the best, great business for the club too.

I'm still in shock about the bid...

    Totally amazing

Who seriously wants to pay money for a striker who has scored just 14 goals in 70 matches?

    Can only be Ebbsfleet?

I know he's been here for 2 years but I still don't know quite what to think about Norris. He seems to be blessed with natural ability but has one of the worst attitudes I have ever seen. When he's on it he can be unplayable but too often he simply doesn't fancy putting the work in. Personally, I think if we are getting money for Norris then its a good deal but the timing is less than ideal. We still desperately need 2 centre halfs, a right back and at least another striker if Norris leaves. A big week ahead for JED and Gillingham FC. We are stupendously light at the back and up top as it is and only getting weaker with the loss of Martin and sale of Norris.

Just had a look on a forum of theirs and they seem to think he's moving on as he won't get games their. Not a signing to get the blood pumping if it is us

A target man for abuse by the sounds of it.
Yeah it's a bit like going from:
A hard working, takes no prisoners, part of the spine of the team.
To :
A 31 year old journey man , from the well known super power Orient, probably wouldn't make our team.
Amazing what a move away does to a fans opinion of a player. ;)

Looks like a guy who can get on the end of opportunities in the box and finish.

and takes a mean free kick.

Six figures is only £100k - I can see us stretching to that. Have no idea if this is the right way to spend the money but Venus is better at this than me.

He's in a gang with MAF, Stephen Hunt, Ramage and Lorentzson called the bombed out squad. They hang about in Nando's waiting for TM and MV to come in.
No use waiting in Cov's Nando's, when the pair are in Rotherham's one.

Yes it is - but nobody thinks that this purchase is nearly a million do they? All I'm saying is that six figures is affordable for CCFC.

when was the last time we spent 100k+ on a player?

Well that's the beauty of change - when situations change actions can too. When was the last time we paid anything before Vincelot? Mowbray has control and can spend the money how he wishes.
