Men/boys will be faster and stronger which counts for a lot during a game, but if you’re coaching technical skill in training it’s a different matter.

I’ve coached girls, boys, men and regularly watched a women’s team. The gulf in quality is not just physical I’m afraid but yes that is a big difference.

Even the difference in speed of thought is vast.

The women's game is definitely improving. It is a long way behind though.

First article is five years old, second one four years old. Must try harder, Trolls. New material needed.

* Sighs * To regurgitate stuff I've posted before, womens football was banned in the UK for 50 years from 1920-1970. That's quite significant so when it started back up, they were 50 years behind mens football.

Yes there's biological differences that mean womens football will be different to mens but a 50 year gap in the evolution of the game didn't help. Combined with entrenched sexist views and unsuccessful attempts to really start professional leagues in England, it's got a way to go before many will view it as entertaining.

However, they've come a long way in the last 5 years - lots more money going into the game, much better TV deals, mens clubs actively promoting and investing into their womens teams and this will continue. It's only going one way. If you don't like it, cool, don't watch it. But more and more are as it's opened up more in the media.

Re: Luke - good move for him. Villa Women are one of my clubs that I work with and I've met Carla Ward before. She seems great to work with and I'm sure he'll enjoy his time there.

It's a one off game, and against an academy which is a long way above Sunday league still.

A u16 team of boys beat Brazil 6 nil last year didn’t they?
