Manchester Airport Incident (3 Viewers)

I find the whole ‘two tier’ thing absolute bollocks.

However, the fact charges are yet to be brought really isn’t a good look. Clearly we don’t know what else they are accused of and how much investigation is subsequently required, but you’d have thought they were really pushing for an outcome a couple of months back.

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the case, this is so high profile that I'm surprised it hasnt been fast-tracked to get it trial and get it over with one way or another, if only to stop all of the online coverage and comparisons about it. I know the difference is the plea of not-guilty, but after all of the whataboutery with the riot sentences, it would make sense to close this asap.
That’s the question isn’t it?
I’m happy to believe that the police are investigating and cps advice being sought
I do fear the chance of a fair trial is diminishing with the shit from reform and others on Twitter etc

There’s no doubt that their actions on the video I’ve seen is violent and causes actual harm so a serious crime

They are hoping it will be forgotten so it can be swept under the carpet.

It’s as if there’s multiple crime sites and it all needs unpacking
Or are you indeed suggesting that despite all evidence to the contrary black and Asian people are less likely to be found guilty of crime?
They have to be charged first, Pete. There is clear video evidence of them assaulting police officers which is a crime and for which there is no excuse.

Look at the speed with which rioters faced justice.

So, like the labour councillor advocating the cutting of throats on video, how can they possibly plead innocent.

Hopefully to be reflected in the sentence. If they ever come to trial, that is.

Gosh this is an easy one...

The rioters were prosecuted quickly and firmly because there was thought to be a significant risk of wide scale disorder that the Government felt it needed to control.

The airport incident doesn't represent the same level of threat to order, so is going through the extremely slow CPS process that most crimes follow.

If you're upset about it for some reason, I'd suggest you write to Starmer and Reeves to insist that the criminal justice system is in serious need of extra funds. Oh wait, those left-wing firebrands, the Law Society, have already done it.

If it is an easy one, why aren't you getting it?

The airport incident was some of the biggest fuel on the fire for the rioting, and the sob stories from the perpetrators which were allowed to go out whilst they were locking other people up was ridiculous. Combine this with the Leeds riots and years of grooming gangs having the carpet lifted up for them to sweep it under was exactly why people felt that it was a different approach to a different set of people.

If you are going to go in hard on people during what was essentially a crime wave, then do it everywhere. You cannot look at this situation now and tell the people who suspect two-tier policing is a thing that their concerns are invalid. All this shit proves it correct.

What about those posting on social media - are they more than a threat than some thugs who start kicking off at an airport?

Lots of this is true, but the slow judicial process is around cases coming to court for trial after a not guilty plea. It shouldn't slow down being arrested and charged, which I don't believe has happened either yet. Also, the Prisons are full of people on remand awaiting trial. Again, to my knowledge, these guys aren't on remand either.

You can believe whatever you need to mate. The rioters were trying to burn down hotels full of people, whereas these fuckwits were involved in the kind of incident that happens almost every Saturday night.

It's not a conspiracy, and if some arseholes thought the airport incident was some kind of justification for going on a far right wrecking spree, then they're dangerous idiots who got what they deserve.

In short, two tier my arse; no one (except the rioters) goes through the criminal system quickly these days, look again at the link I posted for evidence if you don't believe me.

It's just a bullshit excuse used to justify more far right bollocks.

"The police are scared to prosecute brown people" is the dog whistle here, it's racist bollocks, sorry.

The prisons aren’t full, people are being picked up by Bentleys as they are released early.

I read it as one armed tbf, hilarious!
Yes, this is absolutely fucking hilarious.

“Dad-of-two Dowling-Brooks, 29, told reporters he had been in prison for seven years for kidnap and grievous bodily harm of someone who owed money to his friend, and was leaving jail seven weeks earlier than planned.”

Genuine question though, how long does it usually take from arrest to being charged?

If assaulting a police officer is a summary only offense, don't they need to charge within 6 months?

Jailed for 7 years and you’re getting your knickers in a twist over it being 6 years 45 weeks instead. Fucking hell.

Don’t they deserve to get the full benefit of the period of rehabilitation they were prescribed?

well the evidence is clear for all to see

they kicked off at an airport. in other countries they would have been shot dead

you say this incident happens every Saturday night? I don’t see police getting their noses broke every Saturday night

the cps charged a copper quicker for murder than they have charged scumbags beating up the police

we all know the reason why the cps are reluctant to charge

Quite possible, but is violent crime ever a laughing matter?
Everything is a laughing matter if you allow it to be. Sometimes you just need to look a little deeper. In fairness I'd not even read the article and I doubt Wingy did either.

So after 4 months with no charges being laid by our two tier justice (I use the word loosely) system, Farage is going to bring a private prosecution against the thugs who broke a WPC nose and assaulted other armed police officers. All caught on camera, of course. Plenty of evidence you might have thought.

Meanwhile police investigate a journalists year old Twitter posts.
