• British GP at Silverstone
• Camping out at Billing Aquadrome
• Northampton TV Presenter Toby Anstis
• Loads of people making shoes

Tim Fisher, CCFC CEO, said:

There would be absolute uproar, the same as when Tim Fisher was apparently stood on a roundabout handing out free tickets.

I do like the way they are going about this. It really looks like they want to be part of Coventry and now seem to be making the switch from being a London team to a Coventry team. I've said all along I have nothing against Wasps if they are serious about becoming part of Coventry and so far, they're making good on their promise

I can't see how it isn't franchising though? Steve from the Trust who has met them has even said it is good for them as they have a bigger untapped fanbase here than before.

Don't get me wrong, they are doing what every club should be doing and are setting the standard for CCFC's new PR company. It is just the people who will now be lapping it up

I think the worry for CCFC and Fisher has to be that there is now a top level sports team competing for the same community interest as CCFC have attempted to attract. That new competition is prepared to throw considerable resource at it and many will be attracted by the glitz of it. Indeed the RFU will support them in doing so in much the same way the FA/FL support clubs. In fact the seeming re-emergence of CRFC adds to the pressure to choose between football and rugby.

Just as an aside to that if they have done community studies for the supposed new stadium will those financials be affected by the new community competition and if so how much.

Don't get me wrong, CCFC's PR is absolutely awful. It wouldn't taken thousands of pounds to come up with great ideas, you have everyday people thinking up great ideas to attract fans on here that cost nothing. They might cost a little bit for a designer (I assume they employ one) and some flyers printing etc but not massive amounts but they don't even bother.

If anything, I would think it would be a great idea if CCFC and CRFC somehow did something joint..

CCFC had the opportunity to smooth over issues with fans over the last few years with the move away from cov etc but failed miserably. PR and marketing is based around trust, Wasps are building this trust as a family friendly club whereas CCFC do not have this viewpoint thanks to our owners.

I can only hope that the club didnt employ a PR company to simply belt out that 5 point plan as a one off, it needs sustained engagement with the fans and local community to even stand a chance. Even then it will be treated with the distain it deserves.

Thats the ironic thing about it all. It's like with this protest when you look on social media many of them so outraged with SISU are also now wasps fans...

I don't think anybody can actually fault them for doing it, as people will fall for it, they will promote it and then go back to slagging off SISU.

12,000 freebies for 3 of the first 4 games. I'd guess the Leinster match won't have any serious freebies since it's likely to be a high seller all on it's own. LV cup is a development competition and a chance to run out the 2nds, I'd guess a large number of freebies will have been given for that.

Same reason they're linking the LV cup game with the Leinster game, sell a few more tickets for a game that's unlikely to sell too much anyway.

Why are you on a Coventry City forum? You certainly aren't a CCFC fan. Do you work in PR?
