Where’s he implying this?

In this article and in a Twitter reply he says “we aren’t going to spending millions unless Vik goes or we sell someone”. Which was basically what Saddlebrains said TBF.

Yeah that’s a fair enough comment

Couple of permanent marquee signings, this Serbian midfielder being one, hopefully that’s close to getting done

need to get a couple of quality loans this summer

Turner is well meaning but isn’t in the loop.

He has to write multiple articles a day to feed the Reach digital machine ….. most are rehashed nonsense.

When was the last time Andy truly broke a transfer story ????

All Turner knows is what the club tells him. And it's in the clubs interest for them to paint themselves as not splashing the cash.

We've had this every year, there's no money to spend, we're going to be reliant on free transfers and loans, we're all doomed, yet still manage to bring in one or two decent signings

Has Turner given up on being an actual journalist? I swear before the Reach content-ification of the CET he actually broke transfer news, interviewed ex players and told us things we didn't already know.

You get more reliable ‘scoops’ on this place and random Twitter accounts than Turner, which he knows. Though he clearly has a good enough relationship with the club to be interviewing the playing and coaching staff as he does

I’d be very surprised if King doesn’t invest again in the team, he’s seen enough to know that the current squad with the current lack of depth isn’t enough to get us solidly into the top 6. If his plan is to rake in the £150+ mil that we’d get for getting into the prem then he should know it’s going to take a decent investment in the first place to reap that reward.

It’s also the perfect year to do it, very beatable relegated prem teams, a load of players on long contracts, in profit from last season’s transfers and lots of positivity from both fans and players. I literally don’t see a better chance for us to get into the prem than this year (and I’m rarely this optimistic), I just hope King recognises that as well.

The process doesn’t need to be rushed as that’s how clubs can end up blundering in the transfer market.

Unlike last season, we can afford to buy players before we bring in any transfer revenue because we have saleable assets should we need to raise capital. Last season I suspect we weren’t 100% on the fees we’d receive for Vik and Hamer because of their contract situation. This season there’s a lot more clarity.

Imagine if Turner does turn out to be right though and we only bring in a few frees

Cant see many people waking up feeling fine then hey
You know more than turner!

all he referenced was not as big as last summer, we could bring in 3-4 free players and sign 3-4 that 8 players already!

Then if Vik goes……(all gone quiet at moment on that, hopefully happening in background)

Even if we go back to a million here or there I'll still be fine with it. The quality of free transfers we would get now will have increased massively and we are fishing in different ponds to the ones we have a few years ago. I do think people who want us to spunk 10's of millions will be disappointed unless we sell or gyok moves. We have short memories at one point we'd have been blown away by spending a million.

already he has backtracked within days. Article now stating we are about to sign Stamenić. Which we know is roughly 4m quid. And no one knew about him until the story broke.

Still desperately hoping your contact is right eh @Saddlebrains ?

Cabt be long now before your mate tells you Robins is really unhappy or some senior pros are unhappy with how Overson is being treated …..

No. If you look at the posts yesterday I was stating how I feel it's the opposite and Doug will go for it. Try not picking out certain posts just to fit your agenda

It’s still hard to see Doug sanctioning more multiple million pound signings without either Gyo or someone else funding it.
