He says the contract never arrived. Sounds a bit like the whole Jay Tabb saga, as well as Westwood who said he didn't get one.

I believe that he was never going to sign with us. His public statement that he would, was just a chance for a bigger club to come in last minute and offer him more money.

that is the only worrying bit isn't it! he is not the first player to say that, would be convenient for the board to hang the manager and player out, save them paying and keeps the fans off the board this way!

I believe Marlon, with all but the sending over bit. I believe that the verbal agreement was in place and the club were to sit down with him when he got back to get the signature. Thats what Thorn says in the Telegraph.

Marlon just didn't want to sign when the better offer cam in, lest not forget we made an offer at Season end and King has dragged his feet for weeks, for us to wait for his holiday to be over I think is quite respectful.

I also think that 2 months ago the fans HATED the board but now everybody feels for them and are siding with them because of the King fiasco.

The board lied about the council meeting and buying the Ricoh and players have come out in the past and said "No Contract Turned Up" so there are both sides to the story rather than "King is a wanker".

I'm with the board on this one, I don't think Marlon was sitting in Dubai checking his e-mails when he could have easily sorted it yesterday when he came back - he even said in his statement he needs to do what's best for himself. I think its a bit petty signing for our rivals because he didn't receive an email fast enough whilst he was in Dubai. A contract isn't exactly written in 5 minutes especially as MK's would be more complicated than the average one with all the legal issues.

So what we are saying is, the verbal agreement means nothing because another team put an official offer (a better one, which of course isn't a factor ) in sooner? King is hiding behind clouded ignorance, the guy was on holiday wasn't he? Did Birmingham have a contract offer ready for him when he stepped off the plane? He took the better off, it's a lot simpler than is being dressed up.

Brum still don't have the contract written up or he would've signed it by now. CCFC and BCFC are effectively at the same stage of negotiation. No contract on the table, but verbal agreements from MK.

Depends on who you believe. If King didn't want to sign for us why didn't he just say. He could then move onto Brum I would have nothing against them, I reckon they've got a much better chance at promotion than us anyway. But the way he's done it has just upset alot of fans (not that he'd care). I never believe this crap about a contract not arriving in the post, if you've agree terms I sure it's not big a deal if the actual signature is delayed. It's just the player bullshitting the fans to make them think that they wanted to stay when they weren't even considering it. The same as Tabb that short arsed prick.

Nick I sort of agree with Rich, we offered it to him ages ago (so they say) I think this is all about money for king, and there is a certain way to conduct yourself, which he has not done. But Nick i see your point everyone feels for the board now when we hated them two weeks ago. Like I say I am a bit fed up with all the knock backs we as cov fans get. PUSB

He played the club, using us to secure a better deal with another club.

To say he was waiting for an email is just a joke, as you cant sign an email, but you can sign a contract which the club wanted to put to him on his return....except he went to sign elsewhere for more cash.

No loyalty these days, its all about the money....especially with someone with Kings morals.

Personally at least we can now free up his wages for other players

Well well seems like I have been conned again. Gave MK benefit of the doubt after hearing his version about sex offences, I should have known better, once a liar always a liar. Yes board have a record regarding contracts but this issue is about who do you believe AT or MK. If you have given your word why would you be speaking to anyone else, knowing there was a contract waiting for you when you got back from holiday. Truth is MK your word is worthless a bit like your reputation, a man of no integrity.......Ah well another season ticket now sold to Ann Lucas

King is a convicted criminal, he doesn't have just the one 'mistake when I was young', or an unfounded claim by a publicity seeker, he has over a dozen convictions including fraud. The club couldn't hire him to work in the ticket office, behind the bar, or to run a JSB day out becuase of the wide range of criminal activities behind him. He is a liar, a convicted liar, I really don't see why this lie is a surprise.

This is getting a little farcical.
I'm not sure why King is getting all the blame in this, yes he verbally agreed to sign he has said as much himself and then he waited for our board to offer him a concrete offer for a three year contract.
Now as discussed elsewhere the fact that he wanted a lot of money and he wanted the security of a three year would should have been too much money for us to find, however the facts remain that if we had offered a three year deal he may well have stayed.
The club have not come out and answered his claim that they (was going to use we but like fuck am I putting myself on the same footing as the board) dragged their feet offering a three year deal. In fact in his statement to the Birmingham Mail King said that he chased after Ken to get an agreement and finally got hold of him in Portugal.
Does the fact that contract supposedly offered by a SISU led Coventry City fail to materialize surprise anyone? I'm sure there are many recent Cov players who would say "No". There are two sides to this story and I'm sure someone has asked Brody on twitter if the club offered Marlon a three year contract and was a piece of paper with that written on it was ever seen by Marlon or his agent?
Fuck it I'll ask that myself.
Stating that Marlon is that sort of person is to pass the buck and to let the board off the hook, they are coming out of this sorry mess smelling a lot better than they should be.
This also screens the news that the most salable asset this club has had in the past two seasons has gone for nothing, nadda, due to the fact we failed to offer him a contract at the time he wanted one.
This club is ran badly and to point the finger soley at Marlon is to miss the real state our club is in.

I will wait see what the paperwork says before making a final decision, as i am under contract till 1st July anyway and there is no rush. So being a man of my word I will do it that way and come back to you if anything changes" ...... doesnt it

King was never going to sign if he got anything approaching a decent offer elsewhere-- it was blindingly obvious.
It's obvious the board were desperate to keep him.

It's down to King- simple as that.

(and btw I did see Knowl call King a 'Skyblue Legend' right? I wasnt imaging it was I?- I couldnt quite believe it-- but it seems he was serious-- gulp)

This is my point exactly? Why did it all have to be rushed through in a couple of days.
So what if he couldn't get through to the Chairman on the phone in Portugal. I make phone calls all the time for my job and when you need to speak to someone you keep trying or try someone else.

The end of it is money talks and King probably doesn't care who is employers are.

Look at the facts. King returns from his holiday on Wednesday and by Thursday is having a medical at Blues. To me that shows King made his mind up long time ago for the process to happen so quickly.
