Just seen that Marvin Sordell has retired at the age of 28 due to his mental health. Gutting to hear for him, and he's said he hopes to be able to go and help those suffering similarly. I wish him well and hope he manages to find happiness.

Some of the stuff you hear at the grounds is disgusting but Twitter etc. allows another level of anonymity to the shitheads. I can't recall who said it on here but the 'if you wouldn't say it to their face don't put it online' rule seems a good one to me. It also reminds me of Graham Taylor telling the morons abusing John Barnes, "that's another human being".

We would have still gone down anyway-remember him saying at the time that it was either Coventry City or stacking shelves in Tesco.
Puts football into perspective really despite “some people think football is a matter of life and death-let me assure you it’s more important than that!”. It really isn’t-health and well-being is-good luck to him.

Agreed. That incident reminded me of the sale of Juke when we needed his goals to have a chance of surviving relation in 2011-12. As John O'Farrell wrote about Japan declaring war on the USA: "With hindsight, it looks like a ridiculously stupid thing to do. And that's exactly how it looked at the time as well."

I liked Sordell in his brief time with us - shame he was never able to fulfil his clear potential. Good luck to him in his future career.

He did a Q&A on his instagram and said that bar Watford, Cov was the club he most enjoyed being at and in different circumstances would have loved to stay for longer, and also that Mowbray was the best manager he played under.
