Our comms mentioned this during the game, Sheff are used to relying on bannon being the core of their play. I don’t think there is any doubt Grimes will be that player for us but it will naturally take some time to bed in

It was a difficult game for the midfield today , Sheffield Wednesday basically destroyed us between the wing backs and centre halves all game and it effectively meant the midfield were chasing and closing gaps all game .. hard game to play in

I am expecting more, decent so far but would like to see more of the forward passing that the reels before he signed show. Still a decent option of course.

Having as much influence on games as a top earner should? He could learn a thing or 2 off Bannon.
How long has Bannon been training with Sheffield Wednesday and how long has Grimes been training with Coventry? Have you ever played football and been part of a real team in a competitive League?

Didn’t think he was up to much today but it’s the system’s fault as much as anything. Lack of options ahead of him.

A forum is a discussion. Not trying to argue with ya.
But it took you ages to say this.

I will say the same again. Something special is happening here. Guess it wrong? Not a problem from me. Just a prediction at the end of the day. But pulling me up for a prediction I've continued with and will until the end of the season?

I will say the same again. I think we will be in the top 6 this season. We have consistency where other clubs don't. Hang me out to dry if we don't make it but not before.

I actually appeared on channel 5 a few times when we got through to the finals of Robot Wars. I was the team captain.

Oh an engineer not a footballer, that makes sense 😂. Nobody remembers anyone from Robot Wars Channel 5, Captain or not...
and your football qualifications are??? 😂

Team captain on robot wars gives him more qualifications for club captain than sheaf

I was representing Coventry today in a competitive league that for some bizarre reason has much smaller crowds than football

I’m confused, I said this on the 30th when we were discussing Grimes possibly signing before the Swansea match which he did if I’m not wrong?

On the later point, think we can and will finish sixith. We have the momentum with several key players returning and a great team spirit.

He doesn’t play the same role as bannon, he’s playing a holding role at the minute to protect our dodgy back 5

But they do in receiving the ball and moving the team up the pitch. Their role is the same in that respect. Today Grimes was lacking in influencing us, but he has been in the club less than 5:minutes. So I'm not going to spark some sort of knee jerk click bait 😂

Well done. No need though to respond to a post that wasn't about you. But again well done, as you obviously need a cuddle 🤗

So are you saying I was wrong or are you just wording it well?

Thought he’s been decent in both games and has helped calm us down in midfield but more so it’s only two games after being with another team for 300.

He’ll just get better and better once he starts to get a understanding with the lads

I noticed him taking positions today the CBs couldn’t/wouldnt get to him, I assume at Swansea they could but ours either don’t think they can make the pass or aren’t used to having a midfielder happy to take it under pressure.

He had to play a lot deeper today as he had Eccles next to him as well, Lampard said after the QPR game he’s asking him to play a lot deeper than he’d want, that was a tough game for him today but he’s class, he’ll only get better
