I didnt say done today or tomorrow

I said he will be at Ryton today or tomorrow

There are medicals, and the boring shit that needs to be done first

Also can't see us announcing it before the Swansea game. Just feels like we would agree 'gentlemanly' if that makes sense.

Possibly. The media are making a lot of noise about it though and will probably announce it anyway assuming it goes through. So might force the clubs hand to do the same.

Internal media content such as first thoughts etc. yes could come afterwards though.

And if it's £3.5-4m....I thought we didn't have a pot to p!ss in at the minute?

And before anyone comes back and says the BTA sale will fund it, BTA isn't going for about half that.

Think we signed Bakayoko half way through as well.
I miss them days..

Countless arguments about Wasps and SISU,then in the middle of all the chaos a thread about a random league two player warming the bench that has all the attributes to succeed.

now it’s just football chat… I don’t like it

Saddle said we are selling him for atleast what we got him for. 4 teams interest. So yes it is funding this transfer

Well he's not funding all of it, is he? What did we sign him for...£1.5m? Say £2m to be generous.

That still leaves £1.5-2m from somewhere to fund the rest of the Grimes transfer when some of the ITKs (can't remember who, whether it was Saddle or GIMOC) said we don't have a pot to piss in.

I love how when we thought we were lumbered with BTA his transfer fee was inflated to 3.5-4mil. But now we can recoup his entire fee it was only 1.5-2m apparently.

If they haven't already been used to cover operational costs there's also the fee and wages saved from Palmer leaving in the summer.

Perhaps these funds were earmarked for reinvestment in January.

I mean, I've never said it was that and to be honest, I don't recall anyone saying it was that high.

I thought it was 'common knowledge' that it was £1.5-2m so my point still stands.

Something doesn't add up with what 1 or 2 ITKs were told about finances if we've got min £1-2m to spend on transfers.

£1-2m doesn't equate to 'not a pot to piss in'.

Mental that BTA has gone from being completely disposable, to being a player that a full quarter of all clubs in the Championship have either signed or tried to sign in the last year.
Potential to be like Connor Chaplin. We should hand on.

Id keep BTA unless the fee matches what we are paying for Grimes. BTA seems to be a well liked member of the squad and is starting to settle. His opportunities have increased which has been deserved on his recent performances.

In an ideal world I’d like to keep BTA until we know if we are going to get another forward player in. He looks better partnered with Simms in this formation and we are probably going to have another few weeks playing this formation until the others are back fit.

From the wales online. Seems the wage limit is about to be broken

Grimes is currently one of the top earners at Swansea, but could be in line for big pay rise should the move go through, with Coventry understood to be ready to offer him between £30k-£35k a week.

Surely we would only go upto 25k to align with Haji as our maximum
