I’m sure Kai Andrews will step up to fill the void for a few months. The GCSE PirloBut they could potentially earn the club millions in promotion
Nobody is suggesting you run them into the ground during an international break.Understand the idea, but the players are human beings. You can’t run them into the ground like a game of football manager.
They need a break to not become burnt out like everyone else. Perfect time to do it is in a two week break between games.
Our squad of 25 has four keepers in. I was pointing out our lack of depth, particularly in midfield. What is us having 4 keepers got to do with signing free agents?
To be fair we do have to improve, no doubt about it.Nobody is suggesting you run them into the ground during an international break.
If the basic match fitness isnt there at this point in the season then what were they doing in pre season training?
Clearly we are not where we would like to be, our performances have been disjointed the team looks lacking in confidence and at times we don't appear to know what we're supposed to be doing.
Surely this two week break could be better utilised by having some quite light training sessions with individuals working on specific skills that they are struggling with. Perhaps a programme of watching and studying videos of games and highlighting where we are going wrong and how we can improve. Discussing again with individuals what if anything players need from the club in order to better perform. Going out into the community and selling the club to local schools colleges businesses etc.
We have to improve and improve fast with the squad we have. We're being told by MR we have a good squad we have a lot of talented players, well start showing it otherwise the teams at the top will be over the hill and far away by Christmas.
Squad is crying out for a midfielder. We’re 6 games in to the season and Sheaf has managed what, 20 minutes? We’re one injury away from Jamie Allen playing 90 minutes every single match. The Palmer sale with no replacement is absolutely baffling.
Signing on fee would be wanted, and if we can get a longer term replacement in for January, then i understand why this may be the route we've gone down. I confess that although I am City mad, I spent most of my working life dealing with budgets (boring, I know). I can understand why (unless it was the right player) we would be loathe to spend now if it hampered any January business. It’s utterly baffling a 1 year deal for a safe bet like matty James until we get the one we want longer term.
But if we've left ourselves too much to do by then and end up missing out on promotion, next summer we stand to lose the likes of Sheaf, MvE, Wright and possibly Simms.Signing on fee would be wanted, and if we can get a longer term replacement in for January, then i understand why this may be the route we've gone down. Don't necessarily disagree regarding the 'turnover', but I'm not convinced that signing Matty James makes an iota of difference to which division we are in next season. A different player might, and I've said before that it is next season when I think we will improve markedly (based on nothing but a 'feeling' ) !!But if we've left ourselves too much to do by then and end up missing out on promotion, next summer we stand to lose the likes of Sheaf, MvE, Wright and possibly Simms.
So then instead of needing a midfielder we need another midfielder, a right back (or two) and probably a new striker,
If funding a deal for Matty James after Palmer leaving is going to break the bank enough that we can't sign a long term midfielder, then we don't have the finances to compete at top championship level anyway.
i agree, I don’t think we’re quite there for this season, I reckon a top half finish, maybe 8th, is about as good as It will get this season. Could have been better if we’d achieved our transfer targets this summer. If we have our key players on decent contracts and can strengthen over the next two windows, then maybe next season. The trouble is, other clubs will also be strengthening…..Don't necessarily disagree regarding the 'turnover', but I'm not convinced that signing Matty James makes an iota of difference to which division we are in next season. And player's will be off IMO.!i agree, I don’t think we’re quite there for this season, I reckon a top half finish, maybe 8th, is about as good as It will get this season. People were bitching about how bad our keepers were last season. I'd say most were very pleased with landing Dovin. Our squad of 25 has four keepers in. I was pointing out our lack of depth, particularly in midfield.
But then next season when we've lost a couple of key players (as I feel sure we will if we don't go up) and we miss out on a much needed transfer target then we're saying the same thing all over again. Maybe next season...i agree, I don’t think we’re quite there for this season, I reckon a top half finish, maybe 8th, is about as good as It will get this season. Players come, players go. If we have players worth a lot of money, then we can play hard ball and go again with a new group. What we should be able to do though, is keep upgrading (bar a series of 'bad' signings. Lose Sheaf and Van Ewjik, but pocket £30m should allow us to improve (especially given Sheaf doesn't play that often )And player's will be off IMO.!
Where did get those pictures of me from?
Never wanted to sign for us when we did want him. I would rather we go short.

Maybe we are waiting till Friday to save another weeks wages

I doubt its wages that are the brakes on this happening. Most likely a signing on fee, which lets be honest, for the short period we may need him, could be seen as overkill
Yep, he has form.We were light in midfield anyway and this won't be Sheaf's last injury of the season.
Fatty James?Heard from an ITK he doesn't like black 3rd shirts as isn't very fitting for him so wont be signing.
