Can't understand people who wanted to play Luton over sunderland. We have a fantastic recent record against Sunderland and they were clearly punching this season, id have been far more confident should we make the final than I am playing a very very effective Luton
Losing to them at Wembley can you imagine

Fucking nervous wreck already, tonight's going to be unbearable.
It is but for me not like the first Middlesbrough game with all sorts of permutations we can play a bit more relaxed.
Another thing I want to win as much as anyone else but I know next season we will be better, better players and will be a very strong outfit. In a way despite our wretched start, rotten luck with injuries, today is for me a bonus so I’m reasonably relaxed at the moment.

Couldn’t be any calmer. I believe we absolutely can do it if everything aligns but anyone given a straight choice and a free bet would go Boro. Anyway, Luton are probably the best side I’ve seen since the Liverpool side of the 80’s and deserve their promotion

Yep, echoing other thoughts here. Not nervous at all.

Feel like we'll snatch a goal then they'll turn the screw and we'll crumble.

Come on boys.

When are they announcing Vik signing his new contract pal?

Not yet, in case you haven’t noticed or care there are other important issues at the moment.

Been in a perpetual state of zen since Monday but woke up with the nerves today. I am off work until Monday but I'm reluctant to break the lager out too early. The whisky however...

Was up working at 7 this morning, which is completely unheard of for me. Feeling pretty positive if I'm honest. We've done so well and I would love us to win, but the fact I know Sunderland can't go up has chilled me out about 50%. If Luton or Middlesbrough go up then I feel that it is probably justified (so long as there isn't some ridiculous tragedy for us in the meantime).

I’m excited for tonight - I used to be nervous but it’s a privilege to be in a position to play games with such high stakes, I’d definitely take it over a mid table dead rubber fixture!

It’s been an excellent journey this season - like a phoenix from the ashes when we were in very real danger of going down, to Carrick coming in and revitalising everyone and mounting this incredible comeback story. Whatever happens I’m grateful. If someone told me in November we’d be comfortably in the play offs by early April I’d have snapped your hand off and called you mad!

Some of our own fans annoy me at times, especially the disrespect shown to Coventry most recently. I don’t have either side as favourite because I think they are so close in quality that its no accident we have drew our last two games.

I know it’s cliche but I think the first goal is vital tonight, whoever gets it will go from strength to strength and progress to the final.

If we score first I think it forces your hand to take more risks which will suit us and we will rack up a few more goals in t.

If you score first you will sit back, soak the pressure and hit us on the counter for another goal. Our home crowd professes to be loud but they don’t handle adversity and pressure very well so this would massively work well for you.

In my gut whoever wins tonight 100% will win the whole thing.

Very good post. You seem a decent lot up there and a mile away from some of the absolute basket cases on the Sunderland site. 😂

Just woke up and yok had put us 2-0 up at half time. Played out the second half to 6 mins of injury time. Then don’t know what happened

Sunderland losing massively reduced the nerves for me yesterday but this morning I’ve seen Sunderland fans saying (now they’re out, of course), that they should do away with the play offs and should be top 3 promoted automatically. So now I want to win tonight even more!

90mins (plus extra time/penalties) gets you to Wembley. If the players aren’t motivated and don’t give the games of their lives tonight, then they should consider working in Nando’s.

Were that the case you’d have seen Boro pressing harder for 3rd, but a lot more teams with nothing to play for at this point.
