Mike Ashley at the CBS? (1 Viewer)

Given the way Ashley operates it makes zero sense
Agree with this can’t see it myself that’s never been his strategy before.

He would want the club to be successful as the success of the club and the arena would go hand in hand. The club in the prem would be better exposure for the cbs. Also make it more likely someone might want to come in and buy both the club and the arena and that’s where he can dig his heels in and make a profit.

I did a tour of the CBS a few weeks ago. The tour guide said that Ashley didn't want the club and buying the stadium is more to do with "greasing the wheels" for moving Fraser group operations to Coventry.

Also it's not Mike Ashley there!

Why would Ashley wait to buy the club at a point when it would cost him significantly more money? Sorry it just doesn't add up at all.
Who knew about the club takeover or ground being purchased until it was too late to get both?

We have as much chance of guessing what happened as much as guessing how our next manager will do.

Would a tour guide say MA wants the football club?
No probably not but he specifically said he doesn't want the drama and public scrutiny that came with it before.

He also said that if anything negative happened between CCFC and Frasers to give him the blame as he's quite happy to be the pantomime villain. Slightly contradictory but just relaying what I was told. Got to meet David Boost as well which was pretty cool.

You can buy it now for next to nothing or you can wait and hope at some point we get in the Premier League and then pay far more for it. Oh, and fund a manager we can't afford to try and get us there.

Makes zero sense, but then so do a lot of things that have happened in the last few years.

Hope the pitch is ok.

Sounds like this tour guide knows more than King or MA 😂

Really enjoying the idea that Ashley would say to King, "yeah, I'll pay you back whatever you spend to get the club promoted, no worries!" FFS.

I was told this last night. By the same person that told me that Robins had insisted that Viveash was fired due to a huge personal falling out, that Robins and King had a massive bust up weeks ago due to the lack of midfield signings and that the writing has been on the wall for quite some time. He's adamant that King and Ashley have already done a deal to sell once we hit the Premier League and that Ashley is helping fund the Lampard deal, on the understanding that we invest heavily in the loan market in January. I fully expect most of you to think it's bollocks, but I personally believe it.
How expensive can Lampard possibly be?

Sounds bollocks to me

,He did not buy the club because it was never for sake

What will be interesting is, when the current contract runs out for the CBS, I know it's a big if, will Mike Ashley buy Out Doug King and bring his own CEO. 🤔

Whatever people say about Mile Ashley he is a proven genius at getting clothes made cheaply in sweat shop type environments, shipped cheaply to the UK, so they can sold by minimum wage workers with as little employment rights as he can legally get away with 😐.

This assumes of course that they haven't already set a price. I don't think we can rule out MA taking over the club at some point but do tend to agree that the rational presented here makes little sense. I'm sure Ashley would want to be the guy that took us up and if he wanted fans to embrace him he would have been far better off taking over from hated SISU than a guy that just got us promoted.

For someone like you to buy them from him!

What a dream for a theorist.

MA wanted to secure the ground first. But during the time he was securing the ground King was in talks with SISU.

Or..

MA didn't want to try and deal with SISU as they took the piss as usual knowing he has a few bob in the bank. MA had an agreement with King that if the football club made it into the Prem or at least made the playoffs 3 times in 5 years he would buy the club for a certain price.

Or...

MA is buying the club but wants Lampard in place before the purchase goes through. This way he isn't to blame for getting rid of Robins. He has seen the potential with the attendances and money made on transfers.

If any of these guesses end up being correct I will claim my place as NITK

Or MA has no interest in buying the club and is just visiting the CBS and a company he owns...shock horror!
