TBF Eccles' performance at RWB at Leicester was better than any of MVE's there so far this season.

I do think his reputation will grow the longer he stays out - he’s done ok but not exactly pulled up trees

Not sure i would go that far, but he is fine in that position. Also give us the chance to bring in Ayari in the middle which might result in more creativity.

Why do you think that?
It’s not an unreasonable shout really. King is a complete unknown when it comes to patience with managers, and the complete overhaul that has allegedly occurred behind the scenes would suggest he’s not overly forgiving when it comes to underperformance. We’ve spent a lot of money this season and all signs so far are pointing towards a poor season on the pitch.

Agree he doesn’t have a job for life like under SISU but I can’t see him being sacked unless we get relegated

The problem is if he sacks MR he is also going to choose the replacement despite being a football rookie

Unless relegation is on the cards there's no way we should be sacking him this season. He's improved our year on year for 6 years now, one off season is due.

Not if he’s ended up blowing the biggest budget a manager has had this century

I agree, I don’t think we should sack him, but King’s stance on this stuff is very unpredictable at the moment. Hard to say whether he’s the sort of owner who will give a struggling manager time.

It would likely fall to the brain trust led by our Director of Football Dean Austin. So expect us to throw several million quid at a manager with a shit hot reputation in the Turkish SuperLig (Khalil Jaçet)

It’s potentially season-ending

“Return to sport is governed by the ability to perform sport specific exercises and having adequate range of motion and strength. This is generally between 6-8 months from the day of surgery.”

Its not a significant quads tendon injury or he wouldn't have been able to weight bear to walk off the pitch as he could.

We are most likely looking at a significant muscle or musculotendinous injury, which depedning on extent will be more like 3 months, call it 4 to get back to match fitness.

Theres a chance he could have fully ruptured his quads which would be a season ender but this would have been more apparent with immadiate internal bleeding and again inability to weight bear.

Quite often the more significant injuries like this actually hurt less, as there is less strained tissue that is still attached and being irritated by movement. When you do a significant injury the tissue is more free floating so often less actual pain.

Why do so many threads end up with a discussion about sacking Robins? There are 38 matches left in this season, how could anyone possibly say he's done anything remotely worthy of the slightest mention of sacking.

A month ago some of us were pointing out we were weak in exactly these 2 positions whilst others were banging on about another LWB or ACM.
Chickens have come home to roost. Just saying.

"Robins must want another RWB. Unless someone else can cover there we only have one, Milan.
I know Sakamoto, Eccles can play there but I would hate to see Milan out for a while and then we lose Sakamoto as an impact sub or Eccles in his proper position. Then we would be forced to bring on Kelly for Sheaf or another midfielder.
Remember we have lost Norton-Cuffy, Dabo, Kane and loaned out Burroughs." Oakey 22nd August 2023

How on Earth was he still moving after doing it?
I know it's a completely different level but I completely tore a calf muscle (unbeknownst to me at the time) and carried on playing, obviously with some reduced mobility. Afterwards you could feel the dip in my leg where the muscle had separated. So I could imagine a professional athlete managing to get by (and add in things like adrenaline like @ProfessorbyGrace said)

Fair enough from a pain point of view but I was just thinking physically how can you do it with the muscle effectively disabled?
