I’d expect to see some impact by Jan. Just generally sick of this that our new signings and coaches aren’t expected to produce for a year but everyone else seems to find ones that hit the ground running.
Yeah I’m annoyed by it as it’s been a couple of seasons where it’s been reasonable but this year seemed like a piss take when we were on about how we don’t start well.

Think you have to let them have December to get a real sense but think Cardiff was more a Rhys idea squad wise considering the rest of the coaches only had a day and a half to get to see the squad. Expect changes for Millwall

Hope so. I’m optimistic. I saw the starts of change even if it didn’t work on Saturday. Two days and a few videos is nothing compared to seeing how players respond to instruction. I’d also be very worried about handing money to Austin who has serious questions open about him and a manager that’s yet to show any impact.

What I want to see in 1 week is desire, fight, passion, winning the ball first, press, positivity… that can happen.
Let's hope so. But the negative mentality has been ingrained for many months now.
The bigger worry is the lack of basic skills like passing and moving, marking and stopping crosses. Which will take a lot of time.
Let's hope we are all pleasantly surprised at how good a motivator Frank is and we go to win the game because Millwall aren't at their best.

Will they? Why?

I think Rudoni would be ideal playing alongside another 8 with a 6 in behind. What he lacks in creativity making him a quality 10, he makes up for in physicality. It would be interesting to see him play alongside Sheaf/Eccles with Torp in front

My fear is that Lati will be tried as a 6

We can't defend with Sheaf and Eccles in the team who are the best defensive midfielders we have. God help us if there is only one.

Looking at Cardiff 2nd goal Eccles left him man miles of space to run into and shoot never got anywhere near him.
Eccles did exactly the same thing for the 2nd Burnley goal too. I think he's been one of our better players this season but i'd give the guy a rest for a couple of games to freshen him up.

Months?

im sorry it does not take months for a coach to have an impact. Months takes you pretty much to the end of the season.

Fuck me I swear if we get relegated this year this place will be full of people saying it’s too early to judge.

No manager has ever had lower expectations than Lampard I swear!
Well to be fair you factor in:

Not his players
Mid way through a season
Confidence is low in the squad

Expectations should be tempered by that.

We had people saying they could see the impact of not having Robins against Sunderland. New manager bounce is a thing precisely because things like confidence can flip under a new regime.

And the point of sacking the manager was that someone else would get more from these players.

Yeah but now Robins has gone and people are still crying, he would have got us promoted and won the Champions League so any other manager has to match that.

We saw randomly good performances from these players under MR as well, they still turned in another stinker at Burnley. It will take time to judge FL’s impact and an instant upturn isn’t realistic.

Instant in terms of results agreed.. but instant in terms of energy levels and committing to the high press Lampard himself said he wanted? That should be instant and it wasn’t against Cardiff. It was same old, same old.

It will be interesting to see the difference after a full week of training.

What was Sheaf doing for the second goal?

Not sure why he isn't included as his mannequin impression in the run up to that goal is one of the best I've ever seen.

Hardly any training with him will have happened in that time. Though he does seem to have confused the hell out of them in the 48 hours!

Obviously if we get worse then thats a massive issue and would require action from King.
If we keep plodding along in 15th-18th for December ans January, that's pretty underwhelming but wouldn't be sackable. I would expect myself to see some serious improvement after the January window if it's going to work with Lampard

This 11 is what I’d play consistently until Jan (With Wright & Bidwell when fit, Rudoni pushing for starts too).

Like Bassette but think he needs to develop a bit more to play as a lone striker.

Really think results will turn around fast if we can build some familiarity in this shape and confidence turns a corner.
Agree massively, especially the back 4.

Have been to Bristol City (cup) and Middlesbrough away so far this season. Hopefully see another away win Saturday without us conceding again! 1-0 us 🩵

I believe Frank and his coaches will improve us as a team defensively and attacking wise
This game and the Albion might come a bit too soon but by Hull we'll be getting there

I’m hoping Lampard has proper 1-1s with all the key players.
He should start with Sheaf and take him for a coffee post training. Ask him what he thinks is working and what isn’t and build the guy up a bit using his experience etc . Needs to be a proper coaching conversation but also a clear expectation of how he wants to see Sheaf lead and play.
I suspect Robins did very little of that and it’s desperately needed given most of the issues seem to be mindset based.
