Looks like the Rapha is in full 1st team training now. Telling you all now he will save this season.

A message from my Millwall supporting friend (he's actually a nice guy):

"Honestly mate, I can’t describe how bad these reserves are that will come in. The two centre backs starting next week have played a combined total of 7mins this season. We’re totally fucked as they have no pace whatsoever. Kind of players you beg to not be on the team sheet.
Today’s result was down to Harris negativity. Oxford were absolute shit and there for the taking, but instead of pushing for a second goal he invited them on. I hate it when we play like that as it’s so frustrating to watch as should have gone on and get a second."

"We only ever score 1 so you should be fine 🤣
Missing Tanganga at centre back will kill us. Cooper is a massive lose at both ends of the pitch, but Tanganga is a class above any defender at this level.
If I were Harris I’d try and outscore cov but he’ll play 1 up front guaranteed 😳🔫"
Sounds like this is the day they score 4 or 5, and their CB’s play like prime Nesta and Costacurta. 👍🏻

What’s your view of Greg Wallace super Millwall fan? 😂
Bit of a prat, but he’ll go away, lick his wounds and if the BBC don’t want to use him anymore, I’m sure someone else will.

Millwall fans, eh? We’ve got Greg Wallace at one end of the scale and 3 time Oscar winning Method actor, Daniel Day Lewis at the other end! 🤣

You forgot the cream of the crop and he who sits upon the top of the mountain, King Danny.

Would steer clear of Borough Market personally - touristy, crowded and pricey even by London standards.

The Shipwrights Arms is usually good if you want somewhere near the station, but we usually do a crawl along the Bermondsey Beer Mile and get a cab from one of the taprooms to the ground (about 5-10 mins).

Ok. First trip to The Den.
Any (sensible) tips - travelling by train (from Woking!)

Is that into Waterloo? Used to travel to Guildford for work a few years ago and seem to recall it went out of Waterloo. Plenty of pubs between Waterloo and Borough High St then train from London Bridge to South Bermondsey. Wish I was going tbf

I'm not opposed to Allen coming in but he must be a 8 not a wide forward

Everyone’s saying the same thing. It’s just a difference between Goblin attacking lineup which has the fullback wider and the “wide forward” in basically the 10 position along with one of the “8”s and the basic 433 which is how they nominally line up. In defence it’s 442 with Allen either at RW or SS basically.

And Danny Baker in the middle

I think you’ll find Danny Kelly is a Spurs fan! ;)

Oh, and even better news for your lot, just heard that Josh Coburn is out for 8 weeks with a metatarsal injury, so Bradshaw will definitely be playing on Saturday then!

5-1 to Coventry.

The only one with the balls to do what's required.

Dovin
MVE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Torp Eccles Rudoni
Sakamoto Basette EMC

I opted for Sheaf (maybe because I’m a cuck?) but as long as whoever occupies that position out of Sheaf/Eccles remains defensively disciplined I’d be comfortable either way. We saw Eccles do it vs Leeds last season; just more of that please.

I'd be ok with ESBs lineup tbf, Eccles has been better than Sheaf recently but that could easily turn the other way. The rest of it i'd certainly be happy to try.

It’s definitely one of the better London away days.

Personally would put Rudoni on the wing if you did want Allen in just because it’s his opposite foot which is a want and I though him and Torp in the box was good at Sheffield.

London Bridge > borough market and surrounding pubs - loads of decent choices. The George is good boozer in nice little courtyard type area. Then jump on overground to S Bermondsey - underrated away trip this.
Love this fixture.. Monmoths coffee shop in borough market is worth a visit...

I have the feeling he has quite often scored against us. Didn't he used to be at Walsall?

And obviously I meant Baker, but of course you knew that didn't you. 🤪

I don't know Kelly was a Spurs fan.

He'e been training with the first team for weeks now. But dipping toes in with the u23s. I suspect he'll have another couple of starts for the u23s before seeing him in the first squad.

With them apparently having two slow centre halves in I would have pace up top so Bassette and Bta for me.

What's Binks done to be dropped by 75% of teams in this thread?

I think your all forgetting how bad Kitching has been when playing this season...

He's kept 3 clean sheets to just one from Binks. In fact, Binks has only had 3 clean sheets for us ever. "Oh but two of Kitching's this season were in the cup" against fellow Championship opposition yes.

Want to add as someone putting Kitching back in, Bink best performances for me this year is when he played on the left of a back three with Rudoni in front of him (playing very similarly to a left back in this current system).

These are the players we have, we need to get the best out of them and that means putting them in positions which limit flaws and improve strengths

Yes, was pulling your leg about the Danny Baker/Kelly bit, and yes, Kelly is deffo a Spurs fan. Both Danny’s are great mates!

Interestingly, Coburn was with Sunderland’s Academy for 5 years before joining Middlesbrough on a permanent deal.

Before us, he went out on loan to Bristol Rovers in the 2022/2023 season, so it’s obvious Carrick doesn’t fancy him as a main striker, but will probably still want 3 or 4 million for him which, with his injuries not being that good of late (for both us and Boro) will think they’ll be hard pressed to get that amount.

Even at 2 million (which is probably what his worth is for his age and future potential) it’s a risk. £2M is a lot to spend out for any club, especially for a club like Millwall where money has to be spent wisely. Why buy a player who’s susceptible to injuries and may only play a third to half of 46 games for you, with the rest of the time spent in rehabilitation?

We seem to be at the “better the devil you don’t know” point of the season already, where long-benched players seem to be the answer just because they haven’t shown themselves up recently.
