Yes, seems he was dropped but reading comments by FGR supporters was not on ability. Seems a case of new manager preferring his own players and FGR supporters certainly seems to think very highly of Stokes.

We have one in my opinion or one who deserves a chance. With a decent proper defence in front of him Leigh Burge. Whether TM thinks the same we will soon discover and he might bring an experienced, older goalie, i thought the Crewe game apart and lets be honest the whole team buckled that night, young Burge grew in confidence and improved and made some crucial saves too.
