My concern with Robins (2 Viewers)

Well what do you want me to say Martin. I don’t think he moved the ball quickly enough or positively enough. You do. Shall we have this back and forth until we both die or shall we we agree to disagree and move on?

Up to you mate . I watch every game without having a preconceived throwaway comment about certain players , over the years I've not always liked many of our players but would always say when they've performed well

There will be some fall out from this. I’m not saying Robins will be gone but I don’t think Doug King will just sit on his hands.

My bet is that the recruitment team is changed to allow the new recruitment team to come in time before the January window.

The recruitment team robins brought in?

So we don't sack him then?
I literally posted above it’s way too early but in this league, given the expenditure, nobody else would still be in a job. See Chris Wilder at Boro and Michael O’Neill at Stoke last season. MR has earnt the right to more time to see if he can fix it.

Forwards haven't delivered that's for sure but Sakamoto, Latibeaudaire and tonight Kitching have all showed promise
Problem is I don’t trust the people at the club to replace Gus properly

need to get rid of this recruitment team in time for January

Listened to Robins, sounds very assured and relaxed about his position at the club , seems positive these players will get it right eventually and agree with almost everything he said , believes in his players too .. fans need to stick by him and back the team as always
He’s got to back them… it’s the most expensively assembled Coventry City squad ever.

do you honestly believe that this sack of shit is worth 20m?

Failing that we could always look forward to standing on a hill in Northamptonshire wondering if we are destined for the Conference

Not sure I’ve actually see anyone say we need to sack him, nor heard anything sort of negative chants in the ground either so not really sure where this idea that the fans aren’t getting behind him is coming from.

Robins isn’t immune from criticism for season he’s currently having just because he’s been great for us.

To be fair I’ve said Christmas, which I think is fair if we’re in and around the bottom 3 after spending 20/25 million pounds.

If push comes to shove, we will go pragmatic and scrape out results…pack the midfield, go counter attacking, long throws, park the bus. All the same things we did in 2020/21 when it looked like we couldn’t buy a goal and we needed points to stay above the line. But we’re not there yet, nowhere close.

I don’t agree with how this recruitment team has re-assembled the squad, but there is nevertheless enough talent here to merit trying to build something different to what we’ve muddled by with before.

Is it ?
46 years this has been my club and for 10-15 of those were the darkest days following my beloved team.
Don't dismiss so easily how close we were to footballing obscurity.
Last season in my opinion was nothing short of miraculous and nearly had a fairytale ending but don't dare compare so glibly the comparison my friend please

Even he looked in disbelief at how he put that 1v1 wide of the goal. £8 million completely wasted.

Let's not pretend that Gyökeres used to miss chances like that every week and he went for £20m.

The difference between the two is that Gyökeres kept going every game and eventually scored.

Gyo did miss good chances that’s true, but half of those he’d have made for himself in the first place. Imagine if Wright was put through for that offside goal, he’d have tamely passed it to the keeper most likely.

I feel really sorry for him to be quite honest, he’s miles out of his depth in a new country and every time he misses piss easy chances he’ll just sink that bit lower.

They’ll be some finger pointing going on believe me behind closed doors. King will be wanting some answers what the root cause is. If it’s the recruitment then they’ll be gone despite robins saying he makes the final decision on signings.

And Gyokeres had a massive impact outside of scoring as well.
Comparing players is largely irrelevant. What is clear with Vik is he had a huge desire to improve himself and according to reports worked incredibly hard to achieve that. Not saying Simms and Wright shouldn't be looking to do the same but each individual is different
