Problem with edge of city sites is infrastructure and accessibility poor transport links. Not sure on the rules regarding common land Morris common would be okay but perhaps too near housing. If it’s going to be anywhere it’s edge of settlement
Didn't stop the Ricoh.Problem with edge of city sites is infrastructure and accessibility poor transport links. Not sure on the rules regarding common land Morris common would be okay but perhaps too near housing.
I agree but a lot of infrastructure local roads etc, although not brilliant were there, and had admittedly only half decent public transport links. Sites such as Ansty and Whitley ain’tDidn't stop the Ricoh.
Or morris common, I know some will say they are both common land, but doesn't all land belong to the commonwealth until it's sold ?

What money would it cost ? This whole where do we play scenerio is balanced against just that, where, as I’ve said I don’t think Sepalla has any intention of building any ground anywhere but why not find outThe whole “call their bluff” thing actually means spend thousands of tax payer pounds and probably a large chunk of political capital with whichever area you use as bait, for very little return.
Their officers are talking to SISU. They're calling their bluff tbf. What money would it cost ? This whole where do we play scenerio is balanced against just that, where, as I’ve said I don’t think Sepalla has any intention of building any ground anywhere but why not find out
The council would have to pay for legal advice on whether they could sell common land, do a certain amount of consultation, seek professional valuations on the value of the land (if they could even sell it which is doubtful). It would cost a fair few quid just to do that. What money would it cost ? That’s good then. If they offered the land for free, bricks, mortar and labour she still wouldn’t build one, no intention imo.Their officers are talking to SISU. They're calling their bluff tbf.
Why does it? Literally all that is needed is for the council to go here is a site / sites we think are suitable and available. Come back to us with your plans and we'll fully support the club in moving it forward. The whole “call their bluff” thing actually means spend thousands of tax payer pounds and probably a large chunk of political capital with whichever area you use as bait, for very little return.

I'd love the ground to be there, but I moved to Eastern Green about 10 months ago and the amount of whinging not in my back yarders around there is incredible. You wouldn't even get a car wash sorted out round there.
Had a look at that link, then on to the Coventry parks and open spaces link, hersall common was on it but not morris common. Don't suppose you know who owns that per chance ?No. Common land and village greens
No land is unowned, some is unregistered which just means the LR haven’t got a record of ownership as it hasn’t sold since they started registration. There’s a drive to get all land registered, it’s about 85% at the moment I think.
Unclaimed land after say a death goes to the Crown but is usually sold off pretty quickly.
Councils don’t tend to sell land, they long lease. Lots of developers I do work for specifically request I remove council owned land for this reason.
it's in Earlsdon mate. The Eastern greeners won't even have chance to write a stern letter to their local MP before the locals are out in force.
There was a bloke living in a van at the top of the common and they got him moved on but not before they vandalised the van! Fucking nimbys!
Tory by any chance?Definitely don't want it on Hersall Common, I overlook it from my house and don't want a stadium to ruin the view. Stick it in one of the poor areas, call it 'regeneration'.
All this chat, is completely academic, SISU have never been looking to build a new stadium, not once, not ever, it's all fucking bullshit and decoy, whilst they've had their eyes on the real prize.
I think a few really do think there is a possibility ?!Cheers pal, I thought it was real.
Tory by any chance?
Suspect some, if not all, the cost of the fantasy stadium would be along the lines of the Tesco deal. It’s simple really to call their bluff. Play SISU at their own game. Ask for proof of funds for the development.

The EFL can and if the council bothered to turn up to meetings they could all work together. The council has no powers to do that, it has to take any application on the merits of the application. The council makes its own planning applications without any proof of funds, look at City Centre South, Friargate masterplan etc etc etc.
