Lati wouldn't get in a Martin teamAs I said on a previous thread I think it will be Russell Martin when he is sacked from Southampton.
But the thought of Lati, Kitching and Thomas playing tiki taka out from the back gives me nightmares.
If I’m not wrong, hasn’t Lati already been in a Martin team at Swansea? If I’m not wrong he was his captain during some games.Lati wouldn't get in a Martin team
Kitching and Thomas are actually pretty good with their feet.
Let’s keep things civilI think most of us agree with that but if MR can't, or doesn't want to work under Doug King's "new model army" what do we do?
True actually. He must’ve forgotten how to pass since then.If I’m not wrong, hasn’t Lati already been in a Martin team at Swansea? If I’m not wrong he was his captain during some games.
Not true. He nearly left in the summer. He’d only move to a Premier League club from where he’s at, it’s a bit mental to think he’d consider it
Oh right didn’t know that. Where did he nearly leave to?Not true. He nearly left in the summer.
Not anymore they’re not. They’ve had a takeover and the only issue they have atm is staying within FFP parameters. Not true. He nearly left in the summer.
West Brom are a mess behind the scenes.
This isn’t true at all. As I’ve said before you put the coaching staff in place for the profile you want. You then hire a head coach to go with that profile. The Mick Beale chat simply has to stop. He was essentially found out to be a charlatan.
I don't see anyone out there better than what we have (who would be interested in us), the issue Doug has is nobody will come in and work with the merry men he has assembled to support Robins. So does he sack them all?
IF we do make a change it'll be because you can only lose so many games as a manager before you go, that's just the nature of the game we love.
Doug King’s vision is key though. It would appear that he just wants to buy, at some cost, young players in the hope that they progress enough to earn profit from in future, as opposed to bringing in a gnarly leader figure who has been about a bit and fusing that with a couple of younger lads, with a bit of quality, on loan from bigger clubs who will bust a gut to try and prove a point to their parent club therefore adding that raw bit of talent to the team at a fraction of the cost.I think most of us agree with that but if MR can't, or doesn't want to work under Doug King's "new model army" what do we do?
There is an astonishing difference to me between previous displays under MR and now. Previously we have always had fighting characters in the team. Remember how we brought in Doyle, Kelly, and later McFadz, Godden etc.
This team NEEDS 1 or preferably 2 tough experienced leaders but for some reason we don't have any. Crazy!
It’s not going quite to plan …..Not anymore they’re not. They’ve had a takeover and the only issue they have atm is staying within FFP parameters.
which they should. They’ll be ok next next year
Lati wouldn't get in a Martin team
Kitching and Thomas are actually pretty good with their feet.
Don't let things like that get in the way of a fellow posters entrenched opinion of a playerI mean he did play over 60 times in two seasons for Martin.
It's not entrenched at all, I thought he was improving then at QPR he'd forgotten how to kick a ball.Don't let things like that get in the way of a fellow posters entrenched opinion of a player

the coaching staff or players haven’t been assembled with Robins in mind - it’s up for Robins to adapt to them not the other way round.
C’mon manI mean he did play over 60 times in two seasons for Martin.
That is pretty evident from how they play in cup games and friendlies. All of these observations about ‘players forgetting how to pass/control a ball’ reminds me of my own experiences as a young footballer. Admittedly, I was ‘ok’, however whenever I had a trial for the school team, I’d play within myself. I’d overthink everything, over-hit passes, get dragged out of position too easily, and it’s like I was trying to trap a bag of cement.
Some of these players are playing this way, like they’re trying too hard and not
performing ‘naturally’. There’s too much pressure, probably self induced to a degree.
Good points there, Deity replied to my post saying maybe we thought Kitchen and Thomas were those leaders, which is reasonable but so far hasn't worked out that way.Doug King’s vision is key though. In all a very risky stratergy and clearly one that is not working. We need a real leader to manage things on the pitch, for me we do not have that at the club currently, and I agree, this is crazy!
Could you explain please?Let’s keep things civil
Agree on the Kitchen and Thomas train of thought and maybe they will become that leader one day. We need that seasoned player who’s been around a bit has a bit of class in his play and an eye for managing dynamic matters on the pitch when things aren’t going so well.Good points there, Deity replied to my post saying maybe we thought Kitchen and Thomas were those leaders, which is reasonable but so far hasn't worked out that way.
The experienced player(s) we need, whoever they may be, will most likely protect the value of our young upcoming players by getting the most out of them on the pitch.
Could you explain please?
Well spotted in the first place Brighton Sky Blue, I did wonder if anyone would pick up on the term in my original comment, and then you backed it up
It’s also too early in the season to really make such a huge decision to sack such a successful manager. The Mick Beale chat simply has to stop. He was essentially found out to be a charlatan.

Have you finally found my collection of history books?
Yes I have. Really enjoyed the Terrible Tudors.Have you finally found my collection of history books?
Many people are complete idiots. It’s also too early in the season to really make such a huge decision to sack such a successful manager.
In ten games time, we could go on an excellent run of form and many people look like complete idiots for even questioning Robins.
This literally happened on 2022/23 and the the L1 winning season.
