As I said on a previous thread I think it will be Russell Martin when he is sacked from Southampton.

But the thought of Lati, Kitching and Thomas playing tiki taka out from the back gives me nightmares.

Not anymore they’re not. They’ve had a takeover and the only issue they have atm is staying within FFP parameters.

I don't see anyone out there better than what we have (who would be interested in us), the issue Doug has is nobody will come in and work with the merry men he has assembled to support Robins. So does he sack them all?

IF we do make a change it'll be because you can only lose so many games as a manager before you go, that's just the nature of the game we love.

There is an astonishing difference to me between previous displays under MR and now. Previously we have always had fighting characters in the team. Remember how we brought in Doyle, Kelly, and later McFadz, Godden etc.
This team NEEDS 1 or preferably 2 tough experienced leaders but for some reason we don't have any. Crazy!

Doug King’s vision is key though. It would appear that he just wants to buy, at some cost, young players in the hope that they progress enough to earn profit from in future, as opposed to bringing in a gnarly leader figure who has been about a bit and fusing that with a couple of younger lads, with a bit of quality, on loan from bigger clubs who will bust a gut to try and prove a point to their parent club therefore adding that raw bit of talent to the team at a fraction of the cost.

In all a very risky stratergy and clearly one that is not working. We need a real leader to manage things on the pitch, for me we do not have that at the club currently, and I agree, this is crazy!

It's not entrenched at all, I thought he was improving then at QPR he'd forgotten how to kick a ball.

It was painful to watch him trying to control it.

That’s the way I’m seeing it as well. Robins is out of his depth right now with the modern day set-up.

Admittedly, I was ‘ok’, however whenever I had a trial for the school team, I’d play within myself. I’d overthink everything, over-hit passes, get dragged out of position too easily, and it’s like I was trying to trap a bag of cement.

Some of these players are playing this way, like they’re trying too hard and not
performing ‘naturally’. There’s too much pressure, probably self induced to a degree.

The experienced player(s) we need, whoever they may be, will most likely protect the value of our young upcoming players by getting the most out of them on the pitch.

The experienced player(s) we need, whoever they may be, will most likely protect the value of our young upcoming players by getting the most out of them on the pitch.

Agree on the Kitchen and Thomas train of thought and maybe they will become that leader one day. We need that seasoned player who’s been around a bit has a bit of class in his play and an eye for managing dynamic matters on the pitch when things aren’t going so well.
