If my business didnt make a profit i could try and blame the manager ,but not ten times

You asked who's responsibility is it to improve the team, that is the managers. To coach, improve and motivate the squad of players at his disposal using the budget agreed. It's the responsibility of SISU to appoint a good manager, maximise income, reduce non vital expenditure and try and breakeven or make a profit.

Ask Stupot for his graph.

What were the losses in the Championship?

I am not too sure people seem to be understanding, if we had 50k in 2006 or not it doesn't matter if we were spending shit loads of money we didn't have at the time as it would have gone into that.
No Nick.. I'm asking YOU! You made the statement, back it up!

Delay the kick off by barricading the turnstiles
Sit in on the pitch at HT or before the game.
Everybody leave at HT and don't return... leave the stadium empty for 2nd half.

Although it made a statement last time, I would hope that we don't interrupt the game in-play again.

I think we turned over between 4-6 million that year. (Happy to be corrected on that).

Also made a hefty loss.

You "Think" we turned over between 4-6 million... Is that a Grenduffy "Estimation"
LMFAO....No accounts published for Coventry City or Portsmouth, Yet you think we made a "Hefty Loss"

Didn't well sell Juke, Turner and Gunnar? Also free up the wages of Westwood and King. At least £2mil in profit that year in sales alone, only spent £500k on players.

Don't forget Tim's role in 2011... he specially said ""My key role is to convince the owner to finance this asset," says Fisher, who is a banker specialising in financially "distressed" companies.

Yes, but it isn't just money in from transfers and money out on transfers is it?

No, you are right. That year it was multi million pound profits made at CCFC. Or it's more I haven't go time to go through and have a look but I have given you a pretty good idea.

Why would it be a grenduffy estimation?

So the club made a profit?
They were claiming to lose £500k per month that year with rent at £100k per month, they said it was 'killing them', yet made double the rent cost on player sales... like Juke.... which sent us down without a hope.

Yes, but the point about increased crowds would be relevant if the clubs were making massive profits wouldn't it?

No mate Gunnar went to Cardiff on a free(Saw out his contract at Coventry) but Coventry received compensation because he was under 24 years old ;)
So still a fee was received, on top of Jukes and Turners, wages saved on Westwood and King, yet still only signed 4 players all season, got relegated, budget clearly slashed, regardless of the fans 'not turning up' ;)

You are still missing the point, the fans stuff is about break even.

Taken from SG's book: "CCFC was balance sheet insolvent, incurring regular substantial annual losses, and a loss of £5m on the annual turnover of £10m in 2011/12" - this was a quote from Judge Hickinbottom.

I think it is pretty safe to assume that we made a loss that season - regardless of transfers in/out. We had a number of high earners at the club, were paying £100k a month in rent and crowds had fallen to their lowest level since we have moved to the Ricoh.

Ah, that was the one. I think the 4-6m may have been the year before (I did say happy to be corrected).

£10m would put us 3rd or 4th bottom, where I said ;)

Again, people seem to think it is only transfers in and out and that's all there is.

Agree mate, SISU let at least 6-8 players walk, including Wood, Crainie, Murphy, Westwood, King, Baker(Bomb Squad)

Baker wasn't allowed to walk. I thought Pressley told him he didn't want him. I'm sure Baker has said that since. Can't comment on the rest, maybe you could kindly provide a link to each of the others. ;)

Turnover was £10.8m (loss of £4m) which put us in the bottom 4 turnovers in the league - larger than Peterboroughs but smaller than Watfords. Interstingly Watford are the only club that had a lower turnover than Forest on that graph not to have subsequently relegated to league one, but their turnover shot up from £11.2m (lost £6.9m) that season to £18.1m (loss £2.4m) the following season.

na. Any fan ownership worth its salt would engage locally with large businesses. Look to encourage fans to have a say in how the can grow revenue and plough all income into the club to try and make it grow etc etc

Large businesses rarely are very interested in football clubs just because of locality.

I would expect the difference to be that the fans had the best interests of the club at heart.
It would still be break even and need the fans to fill the ground to enable bigger budgets.

(I've said a fair few points on how it could be done differently also)

I am talking about from a caring for the club perspective.

Still wouldn't make a difference if we weren't getting enough revenue, those players would still be sold, budgets would still be cut, I would imagine. It might be more personal, but it would still need to be done.

Not read the whole thread - but for future protests at home we must do our best to inform the away fans.

Sheff United had some legitimate complaints about travelling all the way on a week night without prior warning. I think they had good reason to be annoyed up to a point. (Whistles etc).

Future away fans would hopefully join in and help the cause.

Agree, let their fans group know. Maybe even their forums. They may also join in

Surely the whole point of the protest is to let people know.....I'll just ring everyone before hand and then we don't need to protest!

Then if it didn't work then that 10m would expected to be forgotten about.
Come on - how can you defend the running of the club over the last nine years. It's not necessarily the investment - it's the lack of ambition that's turning fans away from the club.

Fair play to you for being forever an optimist, but you cannot blame the majority who have had enough.

We need to be pragmatic about this. The fans are gone. That's because of SISU and so things NEED to change.

Coming all that way to watch their team win away - the poor souls ;).

They knew anyway, there were a group of them in The Mill discussing the protests before the game. The whistles were kept from everyone, including our own supporters, for obvious reasons.

Anyhow, I was speaking to a Sheff United fan who is a customer earlier today, said it was the best away day he'd had in ages.

If the away fans buy into what we are trying to achieve great, if they don't they don't. It's a pity, but I don't see why we need to concern ourselves with the sensibilities of visiting fans when we're on our own turf.
