No chance I would be falling for that I’ve always said 5-10 years in Brum is my guess,I’ve not even opened that link totally pointless

5-10 years in Birmingham are you genuinely serious I nearly just spat out my tea. Delusional.

We won’t last five years in Brum. Robins would go and we’d sink like a stone.

Hopefully all sides realise how important a ground in Cov is to securing Championship status should we make it.

If Turner had directly quoted Fisher, for example "we are in negotiations for a return to the Ricoh" then that would be reason to get mildly excited.

Good old Telegraph. Can't give a simple report on the finances without putting in some bait. Surely they're getting enough clicks from the match coverage, we're top of the league FFS.

Depends if wasps are playing or not

Come on Pete you know the complaint has nothing to do with us not being at the Ricoh as Eastwood and Boddy have both said it wasn't, please don't mislead people
I’m not. It was about saving money or losing money. Not whether it meant we were playing away, these are all choices, not misleading anyone I hope

It's in both clubs short-term interest to sort terms for CCFC to return to the Ricoh.
In the medium term SISU may calculate that keeping the club away may distress Wasps to the point they go bust.
Its a dangerous gamble!

We've probably lost 5-6k on average, so 22 x 6 x 10 = £1,320,000 over a season top end of that. I can’t imagine the rent was more than that at the Ricoh, though rents hardly the issue stopping us.
But the tickets were dearer at the Ricoh as were Season tickets so it will be over 1.5 mil easy.
As for the Rent no one is sure but at the supporters meeting it was believed to be over £500,000 plus the policing etc seems to be a lot more at Brum then we ever had at the Ricoh, we also have to pay for the road closers etc.
We do however get more pie money.

I genuinely don’t think anyone wanted to play outside of Coventry this season

True. Depends if we get a better cut or distribution of paid vs free (fewer school tickets? Fewer OAPs making it over?) but generally the point holds.

Point is it’s costing us far more than it’s costing Wasps, which is shit because they’re the ones who need to budge and right now they have a lever to pull to get us to do what they want.

If we are getting 10k home fans by the end of the season looking at 12-13k in the Championship does that change I wonder?

Still doesn’t get us a home in Cov though. Until some land is bought anything will be a stop gap.

Apparently the RFU would not allow wasps to go bust and would bale them out, that is the consensus at Cov RFC games.
Cant see it myself but a lot are adamant that is the case.

We only had 7000 City fans at the Sunderland game pretty poor even if it was on the tele.
Cant see anyone else bringing as many as they did to any of our remaining home games.
Might get a sellout for the final game if we have won the league, though as it is a game everyone will want to be at just like Wembley.

But the choice to make the complaint hasn't affected anything at all. Even if the complaint wasnt made its fairly obvious we still wouldn't be playing at the ricoh this season, that's what I ment in my tired typing :)

The extra income wasps would get from us playing in the championship is a game changer and so personally I fully expect us to be playing the villa at the Ricoh in the league next season

We averaged £8 per supporter at the Ricoh in the last season

Actually net of tax it seems to be £6.40

It isn't, just pointing out how people fall for the click bait as you clearly have.
I haven’t fell for it, I can’t stand the bs from the telegraph but it’s come from fisher not the telegraph....
Doesn’t make it any more believable but still

Lower than I thought, although its beyond debate that we'd have more through the gate at the Ricoh so would be better off. We just can't do it at any cost, it has to be sensible and sustainable (and have a better pitch!!).

Revenue is £2.5 m across 309,000 in the season which is around £8 gross and £6.40 net

CCFC Finance Director
Match receipts in accounts £2,545,705 (includes cup games though)
Average league attendance 12363

Roughly £8.95 per person and that is already net of VAT or tax. The accounts show all figures net of VAT

It’s not really that hard to figure out is it? We’re paying potentially up to £1M worth of rent and our gates are down by over half. Anyone with a shred of common sense can figure out that’s not sustainable for the long term.

suppose it depends on the definition of long term. I would say its longer than 2 years.
