Always suspected our Bright bid would be funded by a Bayliss sale, and any bid for Marquis would have been from a Wilson sell on clause.

We should keep Tom this season. If we don't promote cash in. If we do he will be another year older and wiser and a real asset in the Championship. We don't 'need' him with Allen coming in but his departure would weaken the squad. Sell Chaplin to fund Bright.

You forgot the 70m deal taking Maddison to Man Utd!! Intresting final month ahead in the transfer market. Wilson has signed for Bournemouth but it's not a deal for life and he could move in the next 12m giving us cash further down the line.

they have been to the year 3000, not much has changed, but SISU are taking the Ricoh sale to the intergalactic commission
They wouldn't have a f*cking leg to stand on! The Intergalactic commission wouldn't allow the appeal as we fell in the Trade Federation jurisdiction at the time so their rules should apply. Everyone knows their rules are just to blow it up and let the Sith sort it out later.
They should just sign the club over to CCC and the Trust and walk away!

I think selling Bayliss now would be incredibly premature. Look at the silly money that goes around in the championship. If we can get promoted and Bayliss had a good season, then we could easily slap a £8m+ price tag on him.
He's still ever so young, clearly bags of potential but keeping him for another 12/18 months will do nothing but increase his worth.

Agreed but he can’t afford another season like last very average for a player who’s raved about.

I think it might be a good time to sell him, depending on a replacement. Bayliss isn't great defensivlely and we've got Kelly and Allen in CM who are better there so Bayliss has to be the ACM. IF we sign Bright Bayliss may not even get in the team so how is a season on the bench going to increase his value? Even if he plays and has another season like last year where he was decidedly average how are two consecutive average L1 seasons going to increase his value?

Your valuation is based on a lot of if's. IF we get promoted. IF Bayliss has a good season. What if we don't? What if he doesn't?

Also is L1 the best environment to nurture his type of talent? He would probably suit playing in a more 'cultured' league like the Championship with a bit more protection for technical players. If we can get decent sell-on percentages and Bayliss will get first team games it could be in both our interests for him to leave.

Sell in the hype i think if he doesn’t make it into the first team value will drop fast.

Well the first thing is we need strength in depth and having Bayliss, Kelly and Allen all fighting for CM can only be a good thing for us this season.

Decidedly average yet all these teams are interested. I agree, I think towardd the back end of the season he tailed off a bit but I think we would be selling ourselves short both off and on the pitch by cashing in now.

My valuation is based on IF's granted, but my point is I think we are better off keeping him and using him to get to where we want and then we would be in a position to demand a hell of a lot more than we could now for him.

A mate who's a ST holder at Forest has said that Tyler Walker is being taken to Greece with their first team squad so I think Lamouchi might be having a closer look at him.

I think there were two main reasons why Bayliss underwhelmed last year. The first was he had played a lot of first team football at a young age and he was drained mentally as much as physically. Hopefully time-off in the close season will have dealt with that. The second was that he was playing in a deeper role that hampered his best attributes going forward and also highlighted his defensive deficiencies.

So unless we play with one CM a bit deeper and two a bit higher up I don't see Bayliss as fighting for one of the CM spots - he's the ACM. Shipley has better attributes to fill in the CM role should the need arise. Although he's still very raw I even think Eccles is better suited to that sort of role than Bayliss is.

Don't get me wrong - if we keep him I'm more than happy with that as I think he's a talented lad. But if we don't use him to his best abilities it's going to harm both his development and our potential transfer fee.

I doubt we'll hear anything on Bright until August. Wolves' Europa League qualifying fixtures conclude on August 1st. Assuming he's still going to feature that is.

Hopefully more info on Walker next week. Forest are back from Greece at some point this week I think.

Middleton is a back up option in the event other targets fall through apparently.

Bright hasn't gone on tour though, hopefully this is a sign that they might be looking to move him on

We still don't know the reason why he's been left out though. It could be injury or, perhaps more unlikely but the Wolves fans still think it's the case, he has visa issues. Nuno hasn't mentioned why Bright has been left out either so at the minute it's pure guesswork.

At the end of the day Bright won't be short of potential suitors so even if it is a sign that he's being moved on that doesn't necessarily mean it's to CCFC. Obviously hope he comes to City but at the end of the day if it comes down to a bidding war I don't back us to come out on top.
